"In the mood for Glen Miller" by Max Greger and his Orchestra,non-stop swinging album by one of Germany's greatest Orchestras.Only got it on vinyl although a portion of it is available on CD.

Bit before my time them NFBF!

Manics - Holy Bible - by far my favourite album. Incredibly dark edgy lyrics backed up by some superb riffage from the legend that is James Dean Bradfield.

Muse - Absolution

Kasabian - Kasabian - declined since their first album imo.

System of a Down - Toxocity

Ash - 1977

Victorian English Gentlemen's Club - self titled - Band i got in to whilst living in Cardiff. They only have a local rep but they are awesome.

Rage Against the Machine - tbf, all their albums are amazing but a shout out to Battle of Los Angeles. A incredible achievement considering how good their first album was. After Evil Empire, i don't think people thought they could improve, how wrong they were!

The Enemy - We live and die in these towns - the band the Artic Monkeys wish they were.

XWWB
At the Drive-In - Relationship of Command Should have been the sound of the 21st century but they split up straight after
Glassjaw - Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence Bristling with anger, I've no idea what goes on in their heads
Green Day - Dookie Probably made me the person I am
Jawbreaker - 24 Hour Revenge Therapy Real "emo" from 1994, light years away from whingy modern rubbish like Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance
Jimmy Eat World - Clarity A faultlessly put together album
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless You either get it or you don't, probably my favourite band of all time
Nirvana - Nevermind - see Dookie
Pavement - Slanted and Enchanted Pure lazy, waster music, sounds especially awesome at this time of year
Pixies - Surfer Rosa Strangely, a great album without anything I'd really class as a brilliant song
Sex Pistols - Never Mind The b*ll*cks An album that changed everything
Suede - Dog Man Star A lot of Britpop sounds dated now but this is a brilliantly dark record
Sigur Ros - () The most thoroughly bleak and depressing hour of music you will ever hear in your life, but brilliant at the same time
Velvet Underground & Nico - it never ceases to amaze by how ahead of its time this sounds for something written in 1967

I forgot this album. Don't know how, it's absolutely brilliant. I've never been able to get in to The Mars Volta though where most of their members went.

Can't make my mind up about Volta, when they just go mental they're great, but a lot of their songs are pointlessly long and have too many lulls in them. They lack the spontaneity of ATDI

Few of my faves already mentioned :

Manics - "Holy Bible" My favourite album too Citizen Erased.

XWWB mentioned Dog Man Star. The classic of the Britpop era

and ATDI. Such a shame they split. Just about saw them from the entrance of a tent at Reading Festival in 2000 or 2001. Would love to have seen them properly. Not a big Volta fan. Saw them at Man Academy, one of only 2 gigs I've left early. The other being The Vines

I'd have to disagree with XWWB about My Chemical Romance. I think "Black Parade" is possibly the 2nd best album of the decade.

Behind Brand New' " Deja Entendu "

Bruce Sprinsteen " Born To Run ". The Boss at his peak. Doesn't get a lot better than ThunderRoad, Jungle Land, Back Streets

GN i really am surprised you havn't put "Black Laces' Greatest Hit's" (Special Edition with added tracks and extended version of "Agadoo") on your list,it is always playing in your house when we've been around! In fact i always look foward to seeing Mrs Potts doing her regular "Superman" actions to that great song! rolleyes.gif

Dog Man Star was awesome. I am a bit miffed that it has disappeared from Spotify.

Right now, Vauxhall and I by Morrisey is another one I can think of.

Almost any Manic Street Preachers album.
