I seem to remember you saying you saw Dave Artell at a car boot the other week? I might be imagining it though!

If my aim is right though, my other half would like to know whether the car boot sales in the area are any "good" (quite what defines "good" i this context i'm not sure).

She knows of one at Chester Rugby Club and one at the hospital. Any opinions?

Others in the know please feel free to join in.

Many thanks in advance! cityscarf.gif

Full of scratters selling crap, the only decent stuff is pounced upon by more scratters at 6 am who are offer you 50p before you have the handbrake on the car.

This is true, in my only experience of going to a carboot sale I turned up, parked up, got the boot open and had people rooting through my actual boot before I told them to fk off and come back when I was ready.

Car boot sales can be fun if you're looking for something specific. Most of it is tat, but if you want to collect old board games, or 70s comics or whatever, they're a harmless way of passing a couple of hours.
An ex colleague spent years tracking down every Jerry Lee Lewis album with its original cover.

Is Uncle NFBF the King of the car boots then ?

No we know where all those lovely red chords come from

The ones that root through you gear whilst you're still revearsing into your bay. Actually pay to have a pitch because it means they can get on site before the normal people are allowed in. Thus allowing them time to snaffle any bargains etc. Usually 2nd hand record shop owners or blokes will but your junk for 50p clean it up and flog it somewhere else for £2. wacko.gif

Yes we did another one last Sunday as well! This Sunday will depend on the weather! It is £10 in at the Rugby Club, and it's great fun! avoid being first in the queue,so arrive about 10ish,that way you will avoid the "scratters!" Books, records DVD's go well, but don't expect to make a fortune! Be prepared for your buyers to want something for nothing! Tell them if you can't get the price you want, tell them you will give it to Charity rather than "Give it away"
The hospital one is far too early on a Sunday morning,6am! (Andit's too "Professional!") biggrin.gif
