Cringed when I saw this last night. Very awkward. Stewart was pretty out of order and Corden seemed to take it quite well under the circumstances, though it did amuse me that he says something along the lines of "I'm waiting for the punchline" when Stewart brought up his belly, given that 'James Corden Is Fat' seemed to account for at least a quarter of the supposed comedy in the sketch show he did with Mat Horne.

I used to despise James Cordon, then I was given the DVD box set of G&S and my views changed.

James Cordon is a talentless idiot whose only joke is "i'm fat, look at me". Patrick Stewart is one of the best actors in history.

James Cordon seems a nice enough bloke, and he's made a big success off the back of that Gavin and Stacey program, and for that I take my hat off to him, he's also done a lot of good work raising money for charity, and for that also he should be commended.
I thought Patrick Stewart was a decent enough bloke before that, but can see that he's an absolute fool based on that. Absolutely no need at all for that rant at Cordon, and to be honest if he'd have done that to me I would have punched his lights out, knighthood or no knighthood

James Corden is a great guy, and its good to watch him pan that little bean head.
I understand people disliking James Corden, I suppose he does appeal to the younger generation.

i always thought james corden was ok, i liked his acting and the comedy but somehow he irritated me at the same time - meanwhile i always respected patrick stewart - until now that is, he seems a right clown, and corden has gone up in my opinion

Corden was likeable enough, but he's just everywhere these days, and quite annoying with it, the prime joke being that he's fat. Gavin and Stacey was decent, but his sketch show was one of the worst things ever to air.
Patrick Stewart meanwhile is a fantastic actor, who it seems was just making an ill-judged attempt at being funny.

Quality post from Border blue. I like the fact that Corden isn't just the reason he's lost fatih in humanity but the exact reason he's lost faith in humanity.

They both made themselves look stupid. The difference is that for Stewart it's out of character whereas Corden is an annoying berk all the time

i don't mind either of them. cordon isn't anywhere near as funny as some people make out but he's easy enough to watch. stewart is a great actor and a good sport (extras) i just think he was trying to have a bit of banter but got it all wrong, he should stick to what he's good at. it's all just a bit cringeworthy to watch really.

In the big scheme of things, James Corden is not fit to share a stage with Patrick Stewart. But Patrick Stewart sounded p**sed and made a fool of himself.

I think both of them died on that stage no winner in that fight both as bad as each other. But have to say PS has a hell of a lot more talent than Corden. Will also concede though that PS attempt at a joke was just as bad as JC's attempt in all of his jokes in Horn & Corden Sketch show... Maybe PS Should of said As you died on BBC3 !!!

I think you are mistaking talent for presence. He is merely a well established actor who was in a very popular space ship trekky franchise thing.
At least James Corden had the talent to write and act in a cracking and funny series, as well as send himself up. Yes, his sketch show was utter garbage, but I can't help but admire him for his contribution to Gavin & Stacy.
Even if what you said was true, the clumsy cringeworthy insults by Steward were still awful. Corden at least had the decency not to stoop down to his level and call him a slap-head.

A strange reaction from Stewart given his violent, working class back ground. People take there opportunites when they can. Mingling with so called 'famous people' can make you forget your roots. As for Corden good luck I don't know him.

What?! Are you seriously reducing world-renowned Shakespearean actor Patrick Stewart's career to getting a lucky break in Star Trek?
