erm, you could try a wired connection, using an ethernet cable, or you can try wireless, all you need is your routers password or WEP key

i have a wireless internet thing that i plug into computer's USB port so would i just plug that into ps3 usb bit + do i have to pay to go online?

PSN is entirely free.

All you need to do is set up the wireless connection via the relevant menu on your PS3. You only need to know your wireless router's WEP key. You don't need to plug anything in.

you'll need the details for your router, nothing to do with the usb stick, do you a wireless router ? or just the stick ?

i have a wireless router that i use to connect to the internet on my computer but i plug it in to the usb port on the computer.

so was going to plug that into the ps3 because its the same usb port on the ps3!

erm, that won't work, you'll need an ethernet cable if your going to connect the router to your PS3 - but try wirless first, just have your password or WEP key ready and it should be set up with ease
