CHATBACK-ER!

SPECULATION is rife concerning the recent flurry of financial investment into Deva Chat FC as they aim to land an assault on the top six of the IFA next season.

The Chatters look set to finish in a mid-table position in the 86-team league of English and Scottish supporters teams but a new private investor has big plans for the club.

The backer, who wished to remain nameless, said: "The aim is to make the play-offs next season by finishing in the top six and the management have already been provided with funds in order to do this.

"A new away strip complete with full names and squad numbers, a tactics board and more importantly a medical bag have already been purchased to benefit the club and there is more in the pipeline."

The IFA currently has 86 teams but any supporters side can join on the proviso that a maximum of 20 league matches are played.

The Chatters have currently played 13 but with the season ending at the beginning of June, and with other pre-arranged commitments scheduled, they only plan to add another two league matches to the list.

An IFA Cup competition runs alongside the league and the season finale is decided by a top six elimination play-off similar to the Super League rugby league system.

Chatters boss Nath Auty is not believed to be the mystery backer but Deebet offer the following odds:

'Resker' 1-100
Rupert Murdoch 2-1
Ash Dolan 7-1
Andy Sheehan 10-1
Roman Abramovich 750-1
'Chuckie Egg' 1000-1

Can I put £1000 on .......You all paid £15 each and paid for the kits yourselves and there is no mystery backer at all.

I'll collect my winnings at training next week lads. What odds will 'Deebet' give me on that?

Well done anyway. Hope the new kit brings you success.

at a current cost of over £800 for a full kit with names numbers and the NEW DCFC badge being embroided on the shirts, £15 per player won't cover that.

that being 24 players and 3 spare blank DCFC shirts for new players.

Christ on an Andre Bike-y! The article is only a bit of fun, Woody.

For the record, the purchase of the new kit is NOT being funded by 15 quid per player. A significant donation by Master Dolan, to the tune of over 500 quid, has enabled us to also purchase all of the equipment mentioned in the original article, as well as a few training balls and official matchballs - hence the jokey article about a financial backer.

Each player has chipped in 25 quid each too towards their individual away kit with their surname and squad number printed on the back.

I hope that is transparent enough for you.
