LAMBES TO SLAUGHTER
DEVA CHAT FC player-boss Nath Auty has been dealt a blow ahead of tomorrow's visit of high-flying Halifax with the news that brothers Phill and Stef Lambe are ruled out.
The Chatters welcome their Yorkshire opponents, who sit second in the 79-team IFA and could go top with a victory, to the BT Cellnet River Deeside Stadium in Queensferry for a 10am kick off.
And they will have to do without forward Phill and centre back Stef for the clash, yet Auty remains upbeat.
"It's never nice to see any member of our squad unable to take part, and we have four or five players who have featured recently missing tomorrow, but on the flip side we have 17 lads that are well capable of getting us a result.
"Halifax are going to be a tough proposition but if we approach the game as we did the Tranmere and Buxton matches - both of which we won comfortably, then we give ourselves a good opportunity.
"I'm looking for character and belief in the players, and obviously to do the basics right. The pitch isn't great at the best of times but we have coped very well of late at the back.
"We will need to keep our concentration levels at the maximum from the first whistle to the last to ensure we don't give Halifax a sniff."
Auty welcomes back defensive trio Matt Darlington, Joe Mills and Jon Mulligan into the fold and tricky attacker Bobby Fellows is also in contention.
