Any ideas as to why I can no longer gain access through AOL?
I keep getting a "File download security warning" stating "Unknown file type".

AOL will always cause random problems because they are shit. Ditch them. I can't offer any other solution.

Can't you just click on OK to get past it?

I had the same problem. In order to get past it I accessed DC through Internet Explorer and pasted the web address in the address bar in my AOL browser. It worked oddly enough and i can now access DC through AOL again. I dont know what difference that made but it worked! I've no idea what that "file download security" etc etc was all about, either.

To be honest, despite the obvious appeals of Devachat - witty banter, localised content, intelligent conversation etc. I'm getting a little impatient with waiting for the thing to load.
Sometimes it works great; sometimes it's a right royal pain in the ar5e.

Ok we are on the move again back to the new server. Old one was a pain in the arse earlier.
No silly messages with instructions which don't work this time. Both servers can currently access the same copy of the database so it doesn't matter which one your PC connects to whilst the DNS changes go global.
