Full Version: Sean Dolan Memorial Match - RESULT

For anyone keeping an interest in the memorial match, just had a call from one of the lads, Deva Chat FC beating the Wolverhampton Wanderers side 'Molineux Mix' 3-1. Goals from Ash Dolan (2) and Joe Cartwright saw the Chatters in with a 3-1 victory. The lads were asked to stay behind to watch the Wolves ladies team, who lost 4-1.

Gutted I couldn't make it today to take part, but by all accounts the lads are all in joyous spirits on their return up the M6, all having taken part in what was a day to raise money for a just and worthwhile cause, a grand total of approx £1,500 was raised for Selley Oak Hospital, an outstanding effort, and I'm sure you'll follow me in praising the hard work of everyone involved behind the scenes to get this match and fundraising event off the ground!! bowdown.gif

I wouldn't say that we were asked to stay behind, we merely did for something to do, heckle them and let out our emotions in chanting form! biggrin.gif

In all seriousness, that was a great game of football. Both teams played brilliantly and well done to Ash, Joe and the whole team for taking part, all of whom contributed greatly.

Raising over a thousand pounds for the Selly Oak hospital is brilliant. A real worthy cause and thanks for everyone who donated! There was a really good atmosphere everywhere, both teams in good spirits at raising that much money for such a worthy cause.

Number 9, number 9, number 9....biggrin.gif

Three times - no way that hatrick goal was offside - desperate to see the video replay of that one.

I think it was given against you Jonty - just before you put the cross in for Ash, but even then I'd say it was a dodgy decision.

He was miles offside! I should know, I was the keeper, and Ash was 2 yards behind me!!!

That said, he would have deserved a hat-trick, played really well.

It was an honour to be able to play in the game, well done to you all. Special congrats to Ashley: Your Dad would be proud in the way you have handled yourself since his untimely death. You are a credit to your family.

Again, well done boys, and hopefully see you for a rematch!!!!

Agreed mate! Let's hope this becomes an annual event - and we defend our crown in the Chester area this time next year!

Thanks for having us, and for taking part to all of the lads at Molineux Mix X1 and to Willenhall Town FC for their help. I'd strongly advise you guys to join the IFA league - it's a great laugh and you meet supporters teams from all over the country.

Definitely wasn't against me - when Robbie passed it I was yards in behind the back four
