As many of you here on Deva Chat will be aware one of our players tragically lost his father last weekend. Ash Dolan's (aka Bluewolf) father was in Afghanistan on military duty with his regiment when he was very sadly killed on Saturday June 30th 2007.
A fitting tribute can be read here... http://www.mod.uk/DefenceInternet/DefenceN...Afghanistan.htm
Sean was very well known within our squad because of his fitness work with some players at AFC Chester and his continued interest in DCFC events and matches. He was a wonderful man, with a big heart who was extremely proud of his wife (Mitch) and only son (Ash) and a man they can both be extremely proud of themselves.
It is a big loss to the British Army and society that Sean has passed away and we all at Deva Chat FC wish his family our deepest sympathy and offer our support throughout this difficult period in life.
Sean (originally from the West Midlands) was a life long Wolvehampton Wanderers supporters along with his family who relocated to Chester due to Sean's work in 2001 , they continued their season ticket subscriptions for Wolves and Ash was somewhat forced to fulfil his 'football fix' with visits to the SHS every other weekend. Ash has since become a regular on the Harry McNally Terrace and has had his fair share of trips on the Hipkiss Express.
As a result of Seans love for Wolves and his son's love of both Wolves and Chester City it has been announced this morning through work of his son and members of Molineux Mix (A Wolves chat forum) that a memorial game between a Molineux Mix XI & Deva Chat FC will take place on Sunday 5th August in Wolvehampton. There is a lot of interest in the media regarding this game and we can hopefully make it a day to remember for Ash's family and a day his father would of been proud of.
More news on a kick off time for any one wishing to attend or anyone wishing to make donations to the event will be announced in due course.
Thank you for your time
Phill
