I got called Betty for a few years due to the fact that when I was in hospital for a while in 1995, the nurses never bothered to change the name above my bed and for a month I was Betty Willis who must have been the woman in that bed before me. I wonder if she's still on this mortal coil.

At work about 15 years ago we had an 17 year old apprentice start with us , he was grilled about the usual subjects , to one of which he went bright red & was uncomfortably embarrassed.
From this we worked out he was very inexperinced with women, & he was christened 'Shagger'...........he still works at our place now & he is still known by the same nickname

Pumps
Nov 17 2006, 12:41 PM
My nickname is a bit unique 'Pumpenink' abbr to 'Pumps'
During my college days there was a great character from Barnsley called Belky who used to sing a verse out of a Cypress Hill song everytime I walked in the room, as a bit of a nice greeting, it went; "Peter, Peter you fat pumpkin eater", then once we were on a trip to London and somewhere around Leicester Square there was a fast food and pizza bar which he pointed out to me called 'Mr. Pumpenink's' this may well have been Mr. Pumpernickles and has evolved since. That name sadly stuck and most people I know still refer to me as 'Pumps' to this very day. There, you know now!
