Thanks to all at AFC Chester for an enjoyable game, lets hope that this is the end to all the sillyness that has been spoken by people from both parties over the past 6 months

Lets hope Phil. I enjoyed the game last night, it was good to play against all the ex-AFC players and see a few old faces again.

At the end of the day we havent got many fans at Chester so why we have had all this silly bitterness in the past beyond me. Its not as though its Man United and we have 70.000+ fans a week to make a fans team out of.

We have 2 fans team, bit like how Bury operate with having an a and b team, if would be nice if we could organise some kind of friendly link up like Bury do. This is very refreshing to see and is not only beneficial to both clubs but most importantly gives Chester City FC a good name.

I would like to thank Griff for liasing with me in arranging this game and hopefully we can have more to come in the future. I was pleased that a number of the afc lads came over and shook hands at the end. There was a few comments on the night that i thought was out of order and a few p**s taking moments which i thought was a shame and a bit immature of some people. If we could stamp this out down to a minority then this would go some way to helping relations.

Well Done to AFC, the better team won and your patient passing build up play won the day, very slick and tidy with a good end product at the end of it. Alongside the lads who were solid at the back you had 2 or 3 lads with plenty of fair to unlock are defence. The lad making his debut for you was impressive, as was another lad who was attacking (not sure his name but i think was sub with a dark top on) To be fair we never played as well as we can do and were only in the game in spells, you didnt allow us to play are football and all credit to you for that, also you have a lot of older, experienced and stronger lads which helps as we have a lot of younger lads that are only learning the game somewhat. Am proud of are lads though, they gave it there all and there behaviour was impeccable.

You should be proud of your lads Mark, and like you said, you are a young team and only learning still. I know from experience with Werburgh's and AFC that it takes 2 seasons for a team to gel together at local league level. I'm sure this time next year you will be a much better side, and be in a very good position to compete in a league if u so wish. At least you have the basis of any good side, a quality keeper.

MAybe we should look at an 8-a-side rematch in 3 or 4 weeks time on Bblacon again lads? Or if you feel ready for it, we would be up for an 11-a-side friendly a week on sunday. If you say yes, I will do all the organising and put food on for you afterwards, show you the proper AFC hospitality.
