Me and my mate stumbled upon the place before the England v Andorra match. Loads of telly's showing various live sporting events and loads of sports memorabilia on the walls.

I think there's one in Liverpool too.
Pumps
I've been to the one in Liverpool – North John Street, round the corner from Mathew St. It's great in there on a big match day if one of the L'pool teams are involved.

Anyway, back to the point, when's this damn match gonna be played! Can someone set a date? wacko.gif

national pride maybe, the chance to see some of the best players in this country or even the world also its good to get away from the stress of club football.
what i cant understand is why some people have to belittle england at every oppurtunity they get, if like you say its not your thing thats fine not a problem but i cant understand why people seem to have a problem with others getting excited about their national team to me being english is everything and supporting my national side is very important but hey lets just support some jug eared goofy t**t from portugal instead.

Aye, the same players who couldn't get past the quarter-finals of the World Cup.
Woody
Grab a flight to Italy then Robaldo if glory hunting is more important to you than national pride.

You being a manc and all, wouldn't you say that Wayne Rooney isn't one of the World's best players?

What about the morning of Saturday October 7th prior to the Walsall game?

I'm in Manchester that day, the Walsall game is now the Friday evening Pete wink.gif

I am away this weekend also.

We will look for another date when we can hopefully arrange this fixture.

His temperament lets him down to be up in the worlds best.

Ronaldiniho and Gerrard probs up there in the best two players in the world at present over the past 12months.
Woody
I'd put Ashley Cole down as one of the best left back's in the world also.

I was laughing at your opinion that Heinz is a better left back than Ashley Cole Rob.
Leon Trotsky
Fabio Grosso is better as well.

Philipp Lahm too.

Even William Gallas is a better left-back than Cashley Cole and it's not even his prefered position!

Gross is good granted, but Cole is better. Cole is a better attacking threat and has massivley improved the defensive side of his game.

As for Lahm and Gallas....don't make me laugh.
Leon Trotsky
I added two more.

Thanks x
Woody
Have edited my response accordingly.
Leon Trotsky
You haven't seen Gallas play football have you?

No, thought not.

Believe it or not, the England team is overrated, much like Cashley is. A p**s poor effort during this years World Cup proved this.

But hey, keep them white and red tinted glasses on, eh?
Woody
I've actually seen William Gallas play on many occasions. You seem to forget that I go to quite a few Premiership games whenever Chester's fixtures allow it. How many Utd games have you been to? I've probably been to Old Trafford more times than you!!

I'm not saying England are the best team in the World, we seem to under-perform every time a major tournament comes along. Much like Spain only not as bad. I'm backing-up Mused's opinion that the England team does contain some players that can be placed within the 'World Class' category.

Gary Neville is one of the best right-backs in the World. Ashley Cole has improved to be one of the best left-backs in football. John Terry is one of the best centre-backs, Steven Gerrard one of the most influential midfielders (unfortunately he has struggled to maintain his club form whilst wearing the three lions) and Wayne Rooney is one of the most complete footballers I have EVER seen.

You are right about England's last World Cup performance, I'll give you that. Personally I lay the blame at Sven Goran Eriksson's feet. He failed to find a balance in the team and his motivational skills are some of the worst I have ever seen in any manager.

I rate Gallas, quality centre back and Chelsea don't look as solid or assured at the back now he has left. extremely mobile and can play anywhere across the back 4, and has settled in really well at Arsenal!

Ashley Cole,. sorry just don't like him, yes he get's forward and he is mobile, but his final ball is very poor. made some good goal line clearances in a few recent england matches, but with all the happenings with his book and that, leaving Arsenal under a cloud etc it's affected his form big time, if he doesn't improve his form he could be playing second fiddle to Wayne Bridge! ohmy.gif

Gary Neville, excellent right back. when beckham was in the side he and Becks linked up superbly at times on the overlap on the right, delivers a good cross into the box from the byline, will wait and see how he plays or fits into McLaren's system now that Beckham is seemingly out of favour.

John Terry is class, seen him play against Liverpool at the Millenium Stadium a couple of years ago along with the rest of the Chelsea side, the bloke is as strong as an Ox, not sure about him getting the captaincy at the mo, I would have liked to have seen it given to Gerrard, proper heart on your sleeve kind of player, and not the kind to go missing when there's a battle on the pitch (unlike Lampard mad.gif )

Back to the subject of this thread however. Before a chester match on a saturday might be possible, but I would prefer a sunday afternoon still if at all possible. If you can't do the 1st of OCtober, here are some other free dates we have.

29th october
12th November
10th December
7th January
21st January
28th January

Please choose one Phil and Mark, any, we don't care, and we will get it sorted from there.

Not meant to be inflamatory at all. lol. Just saying to Rob, cos they would get more than 10 for ANY match, not just against us.

SteveO, thanks for the reply. I didn't come down to have a look mate, you were training next to the pitch we were playing on this morning. lol. And no rush to play, but I would like to get a date sorted a.s.a.p. so we can plan everything properly.

Not desperate, there are other irons in the fire, it's just that we have quite a few free weekends at the moment becaue we got a bye in the NFSL Challenge Cup as holders.

Like I say, there are other irons in the fire but this seems to be a game that most people would like to happen so we might as well get it on, get it organised so we can plan our other friendly fixtures.
