Here r some more serious questions that need asking b4 u can play football,

Where is your home pitch?
Where is your kit?
What league will u play in? or is it friendly only?
Where is your player insurance?
To get player insurance u must be affiliated to the FA. When is this happening?
Where is your public liability insurance?
Before u get affiliated u must be properly constituted. When is the constitution gonna be written?
Who is the treasurer, secretary and chairman, needed for a constitution?
Has the treasurer got recorded accounts, because the FA insist on having the right to check up on all accounts with no notice given. If they are not in order then the team will be suspended from playing indefinitely.
Does the secretary know how to arrange refs, pitches and changing rooms, after match fod etc.

And lastly, HAS ANYONE ACTUALLY THOUGHT ABOUT ANY OF THIS OR IS THIS TEAM JUST A PIPEDREAM???????

Do you need a home pitch? As far as I was aware 'AFC Chester' have about 10 a season.
Kit!! They only set up a week ago, 'AFC Chester' struggled with a kit for a season.
If it's friendly only what is the problem?
Don't need insurance!!
You don't have to be affiliated to the F.A it just helps.
You don't need public liability insurance, it's their own fault if they get in the way!!
No affiliation no constitution!!
I can't even be bothered going on about accounts as I'm basically repeating myself.
It's not hard to arrange officials, pitches and food etc... just need to make a phone call.

I don't know what the DCFC plan is, but I think that the idea is a far better one than AFC Chester. Whilst these supporters are able to say they are supporters, instead of recruiting players as they are friends of players, or Werburghs players.

You ask is it a pipe dream? I remember playing against DCFC in that 7 a side tournament, they didn't really know what to do, but they turned out ok.

I have faith in these fellas, reckon they can pull it off, depends on how far they want to take it.

I assume he means regurgitated, and I'd say the definition is relevant only very loosely.

What a load of crap Mr Griffiths talks !

I ran a Sunday team in the long running and well respected Hyde and District League for 3 years and needed :

No insurance
No FA affiliation
No public laibility insurance
No constitution
recorded accounts ? Rubbish. As long as the league and whoever owns your pitch get paid no one cares
As for refs. The league organise them. You may have to check with the league pre game but thats hardly a chore is it ?
Changing rooms ? Whats wrong with back seat of the car ?
Food ? Half the time the away team p**s off home straight away anyway
Pitches ? Ten a penny. Councils make money out of them so they are happy to lease them out
Kits £ 200 for a whole kit from JJB. Get a sponsor on it and its free

Only problem I had was getting people to cough up their subs

Good luck
slave 2 money
omg i think that lad needs to get out more and stop his bitterness

if you have nothing good to say then leave out of it!!

I say these things because, believe it or not, I want this team to get off the ground and play matches, DCFC vs AFC chester will be great fun.

To Mike Gerrod, its true that if the teams stays friendly only then no affiliation is needed, hence no insurance or anything either, but that is very risky.

But to Phil and Mark, if u r going to do this without insurance u need to be carefull, beacuse if someone gets injured playing for OR AGAINST U, then they can sue you. THIS IS SERIOUS. We r finally getting this sorted with AFC chester right now, now that i am helping in the running of the club.

And to Colin Potts, I have no idea what the Hyde league is like, but in the Cheshire FA affiliation region, which this team falls into, the affiliation and insurance are a LEGAL requirement. I will show u the letter myself Phil if u want.

IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, I am now helping Woody sort out AFC Chester over the summer, if u need any help setting up these things Phil then let me know, I am here for advice if u need me. I have 3 years experiance at running a team.

P.S. I can get u a form to join the Chester and District league but u will need to be quick, deadline is the 1st of june.

Thanks Mike, I may be in touch.

mike, as you may or may not know, i am a qualified lawyer who has a speciality in personal injury law. If any issue arises dpn't you worry son, any potential claim will be dealt by me personally, and for free. When it comes to footballing injuries insurance is currently the big what-to-do but it doesnt get you far.

Almost crossing the line there!!!! I'd stop whilst the going is good, we don't want DCFC sueing you for an "illegal approach"!

Phill - likewise if you need any help arranging things, I am good friends with a member of the Chester & District Sunday League committee so would have a few good contacts should you need them.
