Welcome to the all new Deva Chat F.C board!Firstly I would like to publicly thank Graham May (Lurd) and Lee Wilcox (Woody) for their previous management stints at the team, Thank you!
Graham got the first ever DCFC team arranged who travelled to Southport for the debut match of the DC fans team, before we took part in a 7-aside tournament in Chester against other supporters sides where we finished 4th. After Graham came Lee who resurrected the side and entered us into a supportersÂ’ league, the first season was a struggle but enjoyed by all. During the second season some things changed on and off the field and as you are probably aware DCFC became AFC Chester, and moved away from this forum for differing reasons (which we wont dwell on) and it left a lot of the Chester fans disappointed with the set up, meaning some people left and some remained at AFC Chester, those who remained collected their Challenge Cup winners trophies on Saturday as AFC won the competition.
So now it seems it is a new era for Deva Chat F.C and I hope to play part in making it as successful if not more successful than AFC Chester have gone on to become.
Regards,
Phill

I'd like to echo all of Phill's sentiments above. It is great to be back, as the "Deva Chat FC" Chester City supporters team returns - separate from Woody's AFC Chester, of course. The way things are going currently, it looks like a very promising future will be had.
VIVE LE REVOLUTION.

Best of luck to all involved with the new Deva Chat FC. It is good to see the name resurrected. We decided on a change of direction for a number of reasons that we still stand by today and I know that a few people didn't agree with the decision so I admire their will and determination to get the name back up and running.
I wish you nothing but the best for the future and will always take a great deal of interest in your developments.

Well done!!

There's a thought... what shall our club slogan be? A return to
Onwards & Upwards or
Vive Le Revolution/Viva La Revolution? Something to think about.

With far lower attendance figures (They play at Gigg Lane and get bigger attendances than Bury get)!!
Actually be careful what you wish for. FCUM has non-Manchester United fans playing for em!!!

Complacency is over-rated. I have confidence in my team-mates here at Deva Chat FC. A potential match against your lot will certainly be interesting.
What's with the signature above your post count? I don't believe Phill has selected a captain, and we haven't played any matches for anybody to be leading goalscorer. I thought you played for AFC Chester anyway? Just reminding you that you might want to alter it.
Woody
May 17 2006, 11:50 AM
Well technically as you lot aint actually played any games yet and Statto did play for DCFC then he is still top goalscorer and was also captain at one point. You guys need to get some fixtures under your belt to somebody can overtake him.
Mancot Blue
May 17 2006, 11:57 AM
Techincally he plays for AFC Chester, so technically he is not Deva Chat FC's captain or leading goalscorer. If we were to sign Dean Holden, who I believe is Peterborough's club captain, then would he still be their club captain untill next season, or pre-season at the earliest? I wouldn't have thought so, so let's agree to disagree!
Woody
May 17 2006, 12:04 PM
He has still scored more goals for DCFC than any of you lot. Have you appointed a captain yet?

I'm sure the management will appoint a captain when they feel the time is right. I cannot speak for them, I am just offering you my personal opinion.
Elton, I see the "rivalry" banter has started already. One might say that they are our Shrewsbury Town

Children, can you please play nicely!
You can be a clubs leading goal scorer to your grave, but you can't be the captain if you don't play for the team.
The signature should either read "DEVACHAT FC TOP SCORER AND EX-CAPTAIN!" or just "DEVACHAT FC TOP SCORER!"
Simple really.

There is CB's voice of reason, so let's put this to bed now. We want to keep a professional image, even though we aren't quite a professional club... yet!

I'm not that rightly arsed to tell you the truth, it's just that on another thread there was the suggestion that it was Phill but when I spoke to him last night he said he had too many other commitments to take on the job of gaffer. Slightly confusing when it comes to trying to arrange a friendly against you guys that's all.

After tying up loose ends last night it has been confirmed that the managers of Deva Chat F.C are Phill Lambe (Phill) and Mark Ephgrave (Steveo1)
Details on a coach and club captain will be announced in due course.

Statto, wait for the management to discuss it first and let them arrange a date. Something will be arranged in due course. As for the 'easy win' we shall see...

Only messing, Mancot. I for one think it's a cracking idea and wish you the best of luck, I think it's more of a true Chester fans team if I'm being honest. If I didn't have so many commitments right now I'd have loved to have played. Anyway, hope it all goes well and I'm certainly an interested reader of the board.
