Following on from our impressive win yesterday, we will find out our opponents at 12:45 tomorrow afternoon as the Buildbase FA Trophy 1st Round draw is set to take place live on TalkSport 2. The ties for this round will commence on Saturday 14th December so we will have extra time to plan for this, unlike last time when we had less than two weeks. Again, this draw will be regionalised so we won’t have to travel too far if we play away. Teams from the National League will now enter at this stage, so we could potentially be paired up with Notts County, Hartlepool United, Chesterfield, or even them down the road.

These are the teams that are likely to be placed in the Northern section:
Atherton Collieries
Curzon Ashton
Altrincham
Farsley Celtic
Hednesford Town
FC United Of Manchester
Darlington
Blyth Spartans or Alfreton Town
Chester FC
AFC Telford United
Matlock Town
Southport
King’s Lynn Town or Hereford FC
Kettering Town
Halesowen Town
Leamington
Bradford (Park Avenue) AFC
Stourbridge or South Shields
AFC Fylde
Barrow
Chesterfield
FC Halifax Town
Hartlepool United
Harrogate Town
Notts County
Solihull Moors
Stockport County
Wrexham

I would love us to draw someone like Notts County or Chesterfield away as unfortunately we haven’t played those two sides for a while. At the same time though a lower team such as Atherton or Halesowen (who we were close to drawing in the FA Cup) at home would do us well, because a few favourable draws in the earlier rounds would set us up well for the latter stages. Knowing us though we are bound to get a horrible draw such as Barrow away, or someone like Southport or Altrincham who we rarely do well against. My prediction is Leamington away which wouldn’t be one to set the pulses racing either. Any preferences/predictions?

We've drawn Hednesford away. They're currently 3rd in the BetVictor Southern Premier Central League with 29 points from 15 games.

I was only there a few weeks ago 😂. Hednesford sent Blyth Spartans crashing out of the FA Cup that day and were a dangerous attacking side, so this will be no easy game for us. However, I am pleased with this draw because we could have had far worse, and for the level Hednesford play at they have a very nice ground and pitch. Looking forward to it.
