There's a great line-up of guest speakers for December's Senior Blues meeting which takes place this Friday, 7th December at 11am in the Blues Bar.

We've got both managers coming, plus Calum, plus the Chairman David Harrington-Wright. There'll be the usual tea, coffee and refreshments before the meeting, Wendy's Raffle, and for those having the Christmas Dinner we'll be going upstairs to the Legends Lounge at about 12.45pm.

We'll also be having a special collection for Matty Hughes to follow on from the amazing amount raised at the Darlington match.

It looks set to be another epic meeting guiness.gif

A late hitch meant our two managers couldn’t make the meeting which left our chairman and Calum as the only speakers and they had to fill in for over 90 minutes, a long time when you’re doing a bit of public speaking!

The chairman was on first and updated us on various situations at the club, notably the insurance firm still haven’t coughed up for the damage to the roof crying.gif Calum was on next and he gave us a review of 2018 as he saw it. He is a very passionate speaker and it seemed like he was talking for only 20 minutes, it went so smoothly. In fact he spoke for well over an hour, amazing and very entertaining.

Then it was upstairs for the Christmas dinner where I found myself on the “Jeremy Corbyn” table. I think we must have put more cash across the bar than the rest of the room put together! guiness.gif guiness.gif guiness.gif Excellent meal again from Doughty and Allen, with Phil Doughty dishing out some very generous portions of turkey and beef, and all the trimmings were first rate (not had shredded sprouts before - is this a new thing?).

The mayor gave a witty speech. He didn’t mention brexit at all, well, only to say he wasn’t going to mention it, and instead gave us some interesting stories about the SBs chairman and the robes. The things you can do with a bit of Velcro!

People drifted away about 3pm and then it was up town for a few more pints and a sing song(!). And that is why this report is so late...
