Brilliant but sobering series about one of the most pointless wars in history.
In ten parts, each episode is over two hours long. Written by KEN BURNS who has done previous series about his home country, notably The Civil War. It’s certainly not a one sided view, and I’ve certainly learnt a lot I didn’t know about this conflict. Basically the USAs late 50s and 60s paranoia about Communism turned into a situation that the Americans did not want withdraw from because of “losing face” Unfortunately it cost the lives of over 300,000 American soldiers and 100s of thousands of innocent civilians. -------------------- NEIL FISHER I AM NOT WORTHY
