You may think he's a 'gentleman' but he has the football managerial ability of Mickey Mouse.

Bignot and McCarthy are as bad as each other. Both clueless and both recruited by Maguire who is on 50K a year. You couldn't make it up.

not sure whether you're being serious or sarcastic about McCarthy. If he had it in his veins, it must have been via a transfusion considering the short time he was here.

I don't hold McCarthy in any contempt. I believe he did his very best and put everything he had into the role, but really you can't see him time here as anything but a failure that went on too long.

To me, what sums him up is Liam Davies. Offered him a six month contract, then extended it by another six months based on nothing. We're now stuck with him on the wage bill for a full season. We recently tried to loan him out to Leek Town - a midtable side a full three divisions below us. They barely played him and send him back after a month. These are the sort of players we need to get off the wage bill, but who's going to take them?

Bignot should've been appointed in May and given the opportunity to build his own squad. Then we could make a fair assessment of him. As it is, I feel all I can give him is the benefit of the doubt, as the squad he's working with is ridiculous.

Fully agree.

How does anyone build on this McCarthy legacy without funds? Bignot can but only put pressure on what he's got and that does not engender happy chappies especlally if they then play badly and lose games without trying because that would surely engender a telling off. Therefore unhappy times all round. Win games and gain points or win FA Trophy rounds an things would change for the better.
