Today’s game will be tricky on 3G. However, Maidstone’s home form has been quite poor which gives us a decent chance of picking something up, especially with the players restoring their confidence. Unfortunately I can’t make it as I’m going to Liverpool Vs Huddersfield Town for a change, but I will be looking out for our score. Safe journey to all travelling down. Let’s bring something back. Up The Seals!
Score: Maidstone United 2-3 Chester FC (Zanzala, Dawson, Shaw)
Attendance: 2,242 (134 Chester)
COYB!

Interesting line-up:
Lynch, Hall-Johnson, McCombe, Astles, Gough, Halls, James, Turnbull, Dawson, Archer, Hannah.
+ 3 strikers on the bench

More players are presumably needed. Lets face it ,we cant keep a clean sheet and if you dont score you are half way to losing .

Good game at Liverpool today but I almost vomited when I heard that we conceded last minute. Feel so bad.

Just watched the highlights. How can an artificial pitch get to look like a badly drained (ie mud bath) grass pitch in april? rolleyes.gif

I have to say I was cursing Ryan all the way home Saturday night but having seen the highlights I have to ask who the heck was supposed to be marking the guy that scored?

It's a terrible goal to concede at a terrible time in the game. Several players don't seem to even realise the corner has been taken. Look at McCombe - absolutely nowhere - neither on a man nor anywhere near the ball. Astles at least goes for it, but so does James and the two seem to get in each other's way, and the scorer is totally unmarked and has time to take a touch before picking his spot.

We undo all our hard work by panicking/switching off like that at the very end. Performances are better but the losing mentality seems hard to break.

The header from Hannah is worse than I recall on the day - when your centre forward gets a free header, unmarked, on the six yard box you expect more.

I agree he should have scored but it wouldn't have stood as he was given offside

Not for me, Astles is the main one trying to defend it. You could equally say James got in his way, but I don't blame him going for it either, it's just one of those things.

Turnbull and Halls aren't even looking at the ball when the corner is taken, and their group of 5 players on the edge of the box draws some of our defenders too far out. Why didn't we just leave them on the edge of the box, it's obvious the ball isn't going to go there. Astles was in the perfect position to cover their players and the area where the ball went. If he goes for a ball like that, just leave him to it, he's our biggest defender.

The dominant centre back should be letting his teammates know that he is going to attack the ball it’s all about talking, claim it then win it.

Hannah offside. Now there's a surprise.

Probably My two favourite players are Hannah and Astles, Hannah, for every goal he scores he misses two or three easy chances, Astles is making so many mistakes at the moment, am I the only one noticing this ? in the last three games he has been at fault for a goal conceded in each game. These two players will be key in the next month, how they perform will certainly have a bearing on winning or losing games.
