Can’t wait for this one! Best away day by a mile, and probably the best chance we have had in years of beating Tranmere away. We should take a healthy following again, but performance-wise big improvements need to be made from Tuesday night. Hopefully we can put Trampmere under pressure early on then score another goal later on. Come On City!
Score: Tranmere Rovers 0-2 Chester FC (Hannah, Astles)
Attendance: 7,988 (1,257 Chester)
COYB!

Alex Lynch is keeping us in at 0-0. There's 1,198 Blues fans there, which is great. cityscarf.gif

I think that this was a very good point. Lynch man of the match by a mile. Never put a foot wrong and made a series of top saves. We set up not to lose this afternoon, and certainly look like a team who will be tough to get broken down. Tranmere had their moments, but never set the world alight. I can’t see them getting promoted this season at all and look a team low in confidence. For us, any point taken away at our rivals is a gain, and was much deserved today. I don’t think we were too strong in attack, however our defence and midfield did excellently well in intercepting and breaking up play. We will improve under Mr Bignot. Although we may not score for fun all the time I certainly think our defence will look stronger.
Our supporters were excellent as well and turned up in big numbers. We never stopped singing. Let’s hope we can take another strong following to Kiddy next week and progress to the first round of the FA Cup. Huge week for us. Can’t wait!!

I was surprised how many chester fans turned up for this game, great away support, as far as the game went we did ok can't remember many clear cut chances a point away to tranmere is not a bad result. So it's one win one draw and one defeat 4 points in three An average of 1:33 points per game, with 32 games left will give us 43 points plus our existing total of 12 will give us a total of 55 points ( finished with 52 last year) in reality this is a minimum we need to survive let's just hope we can improve an get somewhere near the play offs

Shame a lot that turned up on Saturday don't bother coming to home games regularly. One lad I spoke to wasn't even aware we'd played the previous Tuesday and lost.

I would be nice to if you didn't close it before the kick off ! I did try before 3.00 pm with a draw prediction.

Can't see you going for a 0-0 draw so at best you missed out on one point.
