Bromley, Maidstone and Sutton United, if any of these teams finish in the top seven should they be allowed to play in the play-offs ? If these teams’ have a philosophy, that they’d dig up the 3G pitch and go back to grass if they did get promoted, then they’ve gained an unfair advantage. With seven places up for grabs you can bet your bottom dollar at least one of these teams will be there, so the question is should they be allowed to compete in the play-offs or not ?

As far as the rules go, then the Conf should allow them to compete because 3G pitches are allowed during the season. If they agree to move to grass if promoted then I guess the EFL won't step in (it's arguably no different to ground compliance requirements, although presumably there'd be no time allowance). The real question is should the Conf allow 3G pitches at all. I'm of a generation that would be against 3G pitches in principle, but younger legs might not agree.

I cant ever remember us playing on a 3g pitch in the lower leagues, having said that, a lot of the lower league teams had cracking club houses with alcohol usually allowed on the terraces so I probably wouldn't av noticed anyway biggrin.gif guiness.gif guiness.gif

Yes, from the possibility of breathing in the microbeads in the "grass"
I remember us getting a draw on a plastic pitch, I just remember Chris Simm scoring, but I can't remember which ground, or even which season!

Yeah Woodley Sports is 3G. I played on it not long after our game there.

It's like playing on a very hard pitch. Ball runs extremely quick, and when it gets damp it's a nightmare for tackling on.

That's cos the Sports Report theme starts several bars into the original tune, and was more emphatic on the durum-durum part. Maybe you need to be really old to remember the theme let alone the joke biggrin.gif
