You'd be better off looking on DC2. There's already a multiple page thread on the subject

I understand Graham Barrow has apparently said he is very happy at Chesterfield and intends to stay withe Spireites, Macc would want substancial compensation (even if Askey was interested, which I doubt), Bignot on short term contract at Barrow so may well apply (not sure if the rumours surrounding his exit from Grimsby might count against him though), Ronnie Moore is bound to be lurking in the shadows waiting to be asked - add to that the usual suspects, Brabin,Carden,Money etc etc

Ronnie Moore did an awful job at Eastleigh and that was with money, cant see him coming, Shaun Reid applied last time and would certainly bring some passion, but very Risky, I would love Askey to come probably one of the best managers in the league in my view, not sure about the compo with him he may not have a contract at the moment, but would he apply doubt it very much, Bignot is a good shout and I reckon he will be applying, Big decision from the club who have also got to consider the financial implications, can we afford the best man for the job ?

I can't see any reason why Askey would come here. Loved at Macclesfield and probably has the most secure job in the division. We're slightly better supported than Macc but other than that it seems like it would be a sideways move at best.

Bignot seems a good fit. A name mentioned a few times on the other forum has been Justin Edinburgh - recently sacked from Northampton, won promotion from this league with Newport, worked in tough circumstances at Rushden. Southern-based though, which may be a problem.

Definite no to Ronnie Moore from me. A moaner with a dubious recent history. He seemed a frustrated man at Eastleigh and he'd have had much more to work with there than he'd get here.

I would personally be looking for an experienced manager that has been around The Conference recently who also brings with him a decent assistant manager. Tom Shaw back to first team player (as he still appears to be one of the better players in the squad judging by recent "unfit" cameo appearances) with some coaching responsibilities and say bye bye to Iwelumo who doesn't appear to add anything from what I can see.

I will obviously back Tom, Dave Felgate and Calum over the next three games but then I feel we need a new management duo in situ. Shaw back as player (with some coaching responsibilities), Felgate Keeper Coach and Calum back to the academy.

I would hope for Marcus Bignot - proven success on a shoestring budget at the level.

Absolute no for Ronnie Moore. We don't need an 'ego' right now...or ever.

Agree on Moore. He didn't apply for the job last time, wanted the club to approach him. The last thing we need is someone who thinks they're too good for the job.

He wouldn't want it, would cost too much in compensation & has no experience.

not sure there would be any compensation, don't think there was any when he went the other way, your right about his lack of experience, he would certainly sort the defence out, and has been given a lot of credit, by most, for that long run of zero goals conceded.

He's under contract, 3 years I think. Unless he's got a management job release clause. Not sure he'd want it anyway really.

We are fan owned, they should send the choice to all CFU members beforehand so we can lump on it and pay half back to The Blues. Give the manager a decent playing budget! rolleyes.gif

In all seriousness, if you're a CFU member it probably is best to avoid having a bet on this.

GB, Holden or Sharps for me; Askey and Bignot would be ok.
