Cant believe the news, if they cant cope with 500-800 fans they should be kicked out of the league

Wow, never known this before at the start of a season. Reflects really badly on Solihull.

Wikipedia. says this about the ground... In April 2017 the stadium received Grade A status from the FA Ground Grading Technical Panel.

What's changed? unsure.gif

I assume the Hipkiss Express coaches will have to be paid for, so the league should order Solihull to foot the bill. Plus any other expenses we may have incurred.

you would hope that the league and the club (Solihull) would offer some sort of explanation as to why it was called off at such short notice

I think any expenses the club has incurred will be met by Solihull, its in the rules

interesting on there forum

This has nothing to do with stands, gates, toilet or anything like that. Nothing is unsafe at the ground, let me stress that. This is all down to the current board of directors not following correct policies and procedures even though they were given ample opportunity. They were told late last night to sort it out otherwise the match would be postponed , yet our directors decided to do nothing.

This clearly shows we need a BOD who can run a football club properly to stop instances like this happening which make the football club look extremely silly.

Absolutely gutted, what a disgraceful club! They've had since May to improve their ground and they now call it off the day before. What a shambles! Unbelievable 😭😠.

I think the league must take some responsibility here, why is such a club with such a poor ground aloud to play in this league, why are there not rules in place insisting safety certificates are in place weeks before the season started ?

Didn't that very dodgy new temporary stand some of us sat in at Christmas only just pass a safety test a day or so before?.....

it is rumoured that it was a paperwork problem, they were told on Monday to sort it, the council gave them till 5pm Thursday which Solihull ignored, Council informed them 7.30 Thursday night they had to call the game off. This is just a rumour but if true I believe we ( Chester FC) should be awarded the three points

If this was Chelsea having a game postponed like this FA would be forced to award 3 points..and massive fines etc. I really can't see any alternative to this for Chester really.
Quite unbelievable scenario.

5pm update: Would be leaving ground about now, moaning about how awful we were, that the new signings are all crap and that it's going to be a long season.
Every cloud....
