Who remembers when the new floodlights were installed and went to the Chester v Man Utd game to celebrate the installation of the new lights at Sealand Road.Exciting times.

The first game under lights was October 12th 1960 v Leyton Orient .The Man United friendly to celebrate the new lights was 1st ofMarch 1961.The crowd for the Leyton Orient game was 9074.The crowd for the Man Utd Friendly 8673.

There was a second friendly on April 14th 1961 against Third Lanark. This was the first match I ever attended.
My Dad told me we were going to watch an International Match!!!

I went to that game too.Ron Davies top scored with 23 goals that season but we still finished bottom.

Yep .... count me in. Although the times didn't get really exciting until the Hauser years. You know you're an old-timer when you can recall Billy Foulkes and Norman Bullock on the wings! biggrin.gif
