Brabin is getting them in early . . .

Which isn't always the best policy. Players available now have often been released for a reason.

We may be better waiting. Seem to be missing out at the moment on the decent players as can't compete on wages. It's a risk but I think there will be plenty of players who are hoping for league clubs who won't get fixed up and will come on the market nearer the start of the season.

Pro contracts usually end come to an end July 1st so expect a lot of movement by then.

He can certainly play a bit and would have probably played at a higher level had his career not been hampered by his alcoholism.

OR we aren't very attractive. A bit concerning that clubs are signing players right left and centre but the negotiations we are having seem to be breaking down.

If you want to be negative then maybe but it seems pretty obvious he wants to be closer to home having spent the vast majority of his career so far playing for southern teams.

Eh he's only 25 and in the last 4 years he has played for Sputhport twice, Mansfield, Alfreton and Telford so I don't see how he has played the vast majority of his career down south.

I'm sure we'll land some Merseyside / Manc talent before long. We don't pay enough to attract the southern softies.

Where SB did well was tyeing up our better squad members early. I'm being very patient and have the upmost faith in SB and Macca. The likes of Fowleer and Harris I wouldn't have wanted here anyway.

I don't think that it is whether these players want to come to Chester or not, it's the unrealistic wages they want.
Steve Burr, rightly, has budget to work to,and unless Messi comes on the market will not over spend it.
Come the end of June there will be dozens of footballers looking for clubs.

Oh I do apologise. Half his career in the south then....added to him being born in London and growing up there.

But let's just be negative and believe a part-time team with smaller crowds than us is a bigger draw for players.

This. No harm in having a go at signing these players but have to be realistic. Our wage bill is bottom third Conference.
If anyone doesn't like that put some more cash into Seals Lottery etc

You seem to be missing the point here. A part-time team with smaller crowds IS generally more attractive IF higher wages are being offered.
The fact that negotiations with potential targets have broken down a few times last week suggests that the wages we are offering were not sufficiently attractive to the players concerned.
Not being negative - just stating facts.

Halifax have completed the signing of Danny Maguire (31 goals in 56 games last season) from Blyth Spartans.
