The Braintree game is being played on a Sunday.Does anybody remember us playing a home game on a Sunday.Plus can we expect a bigger crowd than normal especially with the Lord Mayor of Chester being in attendance.

Why on earth is the Lord Mayor coming to the match ? the same Lord Mayor that congratulated "Chester City" on winning the Conference North.

we've played a few games on a sunday - Hull City, Wrexham, Burnley and Swansea are 4 I can think of - sure there's more

Oh and in answer to the original question - why on earth would more people go the match, just because the Lord Mayor
is there !!!! crying.gif

I don't think it would be the same one now as it was then.
As regards playing home matches on a Sunday, it is far from unprecedented. Must have been at least 10 games at the Deva over the years switched to Sundays for various reasons.

The Mayor is Coun.Bob Rudd, who along with the Lady Mayoress attended the Senior Blues Christmas meeting and dinner, and both showed great interest and were very complimentary about our club, and I know he was looking forward to the Braintree game, but joked that he was hoping that it was going to be a FA Cup third round match against his own team,Millwall! biggrin.gif

Worth bearing in mind that a lot of the blues disciples go to church on sundays

It could be a quick turn round to get to the game

Just noticed that we haven't played a home game on a Saturday since November 22, and our next one isn't until January 24!
