From Bucks OWS -

It is with regret that the Club and Trust Board announce the departure of Liam Watson & Dominic Morley from the Club with immediate effect.

We would like to thank them both for their effort and commitment since joining the Club in May 2013, and more importantly their unique achievements on winning the Club's first ever championship in 62 years, and for taking the Club to the 2nd Round Proper of the FA Cup for the first time ever.

The Club & Trust Board will now work quickly to appoint a permanent successor who's main task will be to fulfil the Club's main objective of retaining Vanarama Premier status this season.

Whoever comes in has almost got 'mission impossible'. With a manger, as good as Burr, it proved slightly beyond us.

Strange timing given the result today!

Telford's chairman said a few days ago that a fair amount of the money from the cup run would be invested in the squad come January and that he expected LW to draw up a 'suitable' list. Watson said yesterday that he needed at least 5 players and had given the board a list of his targets. Presumably the board having looked at his list were unimpressed and unwilling to back him.

its the normal case a manager gets team promotion and then have a bad season he suddenly in the boards eyes is a bad manager no loyalty at all we know the conference is a tough league and sometimes promoted teams just not good enough to stay up , we were a classic example last year

Could NY be returning to the Deva as the manager of Telford?

I'd have thought NY might be in with a shout, but may be abit too similar to Watson.

I was talking to one of Telford's directors yesterday and the problems there are (at least) two-fold. First problem is that Telford has no heart or identity. Wolves have more Season ticket holders with SY or TF postcodes than the combined average attendances of both those clubs. The other problem is that there seems to be a growing feeling that Telford need outside investment to avoid being a Conference yo-yo club. They've practiced financial prudence since they became fan-owned, but have hit a ceiling of how far they can go in that format.

Not sure its just about finances. They have a slightly bigger fan base, than Macclesfield and probably a similar budget. Macclesfield are in the play offs. I suspect the problem is more to do with paying high wages for distinctly average, part-time players. It did for Neil Young and it looks, like its done for Liam Watson, too. I don't think anyone can doubt the boards decision to go full time or Burr's policy of signing young players. This is what developing a team, is all about.

This newspaper report suggests the replay with Telford is on Tuesday, 23rd December. Has that been confirmed anywhere?

Edit: Yes it has, it's on BBC Football

Next Telford manager will be given significant funds to spend in January but must deliver 'exciting football' as well as avoiding the drop . -

Macclesfield have a financial benefactor. He cleared their debts during the summer to enable them to continue. They do, as you've said, operate on one of the smallest budgets. Their fans on Non League Forum are amazed that they're 2nd in the league and don't expect them to reach the play-offs. They will not be able to strengthen when the transfer window opens in January.

If we can get through with our threadbare squad, we could have Kane Richards against Fylde, It looks like he didn't play
in the FA Trophy for Ilkeston, so won't be cup tied.

Who ever it is, they are unlikely to be 1st choice after Telford approached Solihull to speak to their manager Bignot, but he refused anyway.

I'm surprised there is anyone that would take the job on. They have zero chance of surviving this season.

Whoever they announce today, they will probably do the usual: "his first game in charge will be on Boxing Day." As you can't expect a manager to have much effect in 6/7 hours!
