Now then, if we were still in the conf i'd be fairly confident he'd be on his way here. Can we secure a FT deal for this lad or will he be aiming higher?

Yep. We'll see, but i fear our relegation took us down a step too far for them both.

I don't really rate Nathan that highly, but would love to see Lewis return. Nathan could develop with regular football I guess.

Nathan has done ok this season without really shining. Lewis has been quality. Problem now is that if they aren't at Leeds we no longer have a loan deal. crying.gif

Lewis deserves to play in at least league 2. Easily our best player of the season and consistent too. Nothing too fancy, doesn't give the ball away and gets forward. Contrast that with all the problems we had on the left of defence. Needs to work on his crossing but he's a good player. I hope someone higher comes in for him - maybe York would be a good call. If not would have him any time - maybe he can do a Sarcevic and relaunch his career with us. Nathan would certainly do a job in Conf North. Never really got going last season but was an asset the previous season.

I'm sure that SB would have been talking to Leeds and the twins over the past weeks. Let's hope that a deal can be done.

Totally agree. To sign these two would be a very good deal for the Club. Min 2 year contract.

Bumped into the Turner twins on holiday in Ibiza, do remember both of them saying they don't think they will be back at Chester. Lewis mentioned Harrogate and Nathan mentioned Southport, but don't quote me on that, I was very loose that night guiness.gif

I think Harrogate may be a real threat to all in the Conference North this coming season.

He was at Harrogate before he came to us if I remember correctly?.

I am shocked that he has signed for them TBH, I was hoping we'd get him back, but thought he'd have had bigger clubs than us after him!

Good luck to him anyway.

This is a massive suprise!

Obviously close to home for him and would've been offered a good deal no doubt

I really thought Burr could've tempted Lewis to sign back with us

Nathan will be next to follow to Harrogate

Surprised Lewis has dropped down to Conference North and presumably part-time. Maybe there was no offer on the table from us? If there was think he has made a mistake, even if they are paying more. Surely playing at a higher level and full time must be better long term? Easily our most consistent player last year. If he could learn to cross a ball he has a future in football league IMO.

Surprised by it myself but we don't know what else the lad might have on. He's been released from Leeds so he's got two choices - try and get a League 2 or Conf Full Time and try and crack his way back up whilst not earning that much and if it fails he's then drifting around lower leagues. Or, make probably the same amount with Harrogate in Conf North whilst being part time and do a University course or something as back up if he cannot get back up the leagues.

Remember he first came to us when we were conf north.

I thought that was exactly what we are trying to offer with the new regime, giving players a chance to play whilst also doing a course at Chester Uni!?

It would be a big commute every day as well from Leeds to Chester to train. I'm surprised like most others that he has dropped to the Conf North but it's what suits the individual I suppose.

i did say many moons ago that they would end up being released by Leeds , Nathan isn't that good for our level and Lewis is a "steady eddy"player but may progress a bit as he gets a little older...i think SB can sign better players than those two for this up and coming season...
