Is there any plans for a pitch inspection or is the pitch covered?

The pitch will have been covered so wouldn't expect any problems, provided they haven't rotted
away like the previous ones. rolleyes.gif

Liverpool and United fans will be segregated (United get the west stand, Liverpool get the rest), so its a case of choosing which fans you want to sit/stand with.

I know there were plenty of armchair Liverpool and Man City fans who turned up to the FCUM home game hoping to see us turn them over so hopefully the fact that we did has already won a few of them over.

Please see the following, pitch inspection by Premier League at 4pm.

It would be playable for an Evo-Stik League match right now, but PL to make decision after 4pm - will update later.

Not wanting to be overly critical of the club (who are getting most things right at the moment!) but was it wise not to cover the pitch??

Even if it costs £5,000 to stage a game (unlikely to be that high) & only 3,000 'fans' turn up (again I feel a few more may attend) a pre VAT profit of £10,000 (not taking into account money taken in the Blues Bar & in the ground).

If we're not going to use the covers, what was the point in buying them??

Not like this cold snap wasn't forecast!!

To be fair the board really can't win in a situation like this.

It's a Monday, most people are at work, college, school, etc... Our club is run by volunteers and the covers don't put themselves on or take themselves off. Banksy has already said that the pitch is fit for an Evo Stik game. It's not the boards fault that the Prima Donna league don't want to play on anything less than a perfect pitch.

I believe that the covers need a small army of volunteers to lay them out across the pitch. Im sure if the club put out the call for help from fans a decent amount of people would have showed up but what with the team travelling down to Ebbsfleet on friday and people also having day jobs maybe nobody from the club was available to open the ground for volunteers. My back yard has been frozen since saturday so I assume thats when the pitch froze over too, putting the covers over on sunday wouldve just trapped the frost in rather than giving the pitch a chance to thaw out.

Hasn't been very warm today, 3c or 4c at best, and the pitch might be a bit dodgy especially by the West Stand. Will be a shame if it's not on sad.gif

I've helped with the pitch covers last season. Depending on the number of helpers it takes around an hour minimum to put out or remove. Last seaon there were between 10 and 20 people there.
