Money doesn't buy happiness but it certainly buys you a derby win.

that really was an unbeleivable game.... first 25 or so minutes you thought Utd were going to run away with it, but then city get there noses in front and after the sending off (why he didnt start vidic instead of evans is beyond me) .... well ... unbeleivable!

Apart from the Champions League final in May, it's a long time since I've seen anyone wipe the floor with Man Utd.

City were awesome today bowdown.gif

Thought it would be the reverse the way Utd started but after the opener they completely folded, before Evans walked.

Really enjoyed that though. biggrin.gif

Very enjoyable.

It makes me laugh when people say City have bought the league, and Man Utd do things the proper way etc. Utd have spent about on average £20-30 Million every summer for about 10 years now, where City have been playing Darius Vassell and Trevor Sinclair! They're spending has been a lot more condensed and close together but people make it sound as if Utd have not had a pot to p**s in for years.

Cannot see anybody stopping them now, they're only going to get better and better.

Although it was very enjoyable watching united getting their arses kicked,it would have been much better if it was by someone like Norwich or West Brom and not yet another team buying the title.

.I think Sir Alex Ferguson is going to regret resting Howard Webb for such a big game.

The difference being Jack like him or not Fergie built that club with no money (as United didn't have a pot to p**s in back then) and turned them into what they are now. City are turning the league into a joke they bought Robinho for £32.5m then let him go for next to nothing and they can afford to keep Tevez in the reserves who cost £30m. City have spent around £500m in two seasons so yes they are buying success. having said that looks like the Arabs are trying to do the right thing as they are building an academy so you cant fault them for that. The proof will come in May if City don't win the league they will spend another £80m-£90m chasing it.

I don't really see the point in Manchester City anymore. I've always admired them and seen them as the real Manchester club, and their fans always seem to have a good sense of humour, but nowadays they could be any club. It started when they moved from Maine Road I suppose to a generic sports stadium. It was different when Chelsea started getting bankrolled as they've always been a bit of a poncy club who nobody liked, with City it feels like they've lost their identity.

That said, I still prefer them to United and I'm p**sing myself at the result.

The only club like that now are Everton but they would take any Yanks or Arab dollar to get out of being the club they are now. The premier league has disappeared up its own a**e.

comments about Citys spending do wind me up all they have done is spend on a compressed time scale compared to Utd who still had over £130 millions worth of bought players on the pitch. It isn't a sprint its a marathon to win the league but City have endured taunts of "not beat anyone yet" despite thrashing a good spurs side early in the season. They might not win the league but that really was a statement today

Good and bad in today's result.
Great that the local glory-boy manure fans had their day ruined biggrin.gif
Wish it had been by a decent club that works hard for any successes, not the 'lets cheat our way to the top with foreign money' brigades latest recruits.
