Sorry as a bit of a newbie if i have breached protocol by starting this thread, but i couldn't see any topic on this game yet.

Rearranged from December which pleases me as i was working back then. This is (along with Bammber Bridge and Chorley) another game accessible by a single bus journey from my front door so its one I have been looking forward to since the start of the season.
I have been to Shawbridge once before, for a Rovers v Everton Womens match. It ended in a very easy away win so lets hope for another one.

Who's going to be there? and what do you reckon for the match? Lets hope for a quieter match than the last visit to Lancashire!

On Tuesday Chorley's 2000+ fans will have to overcome Salford in the hope
of closing the gap. Wonder if the scaffolding has been repaired rolleyes.gif

I'll be there. Heard Clitheroe's a nice place and the ground doesn't look too bad on the aerial shots. 3 points there would set us up nicely for next weekends big game. I'm Sure whatever, it'll be a slightly quieter trip to Lancashire than the last one!

Clitheroe is relatively close to Chorleigh and the other inbred sorry local towns allegedly involved in the trouble the other week, lets hope the 'protectors' turn up to ensure our safety biggrin.gif . The ground looks a tip btw.

Clitheroe are better away than at home, but will be another tricky match.

oh yeah! now i remember. the slope!
put it this way, one corner flag is on top of pendle hill, the other is on the banks of the ribble.
You don't get that at the Emirates Stadium.

clitheroe is near chorley, in the same way that parkgate is near bootle. anyone who comes on wednesday will have a much more pleasant experience than last week at you-know-where (there's been enough mention of them on this site to last a lifetime).

and as a resident of blackburn i do resent the implication coming from ch**ley that the trouble was caused by "outsiders" from blackburn joining forces with hoolies from bolton etc. About as likely as chester fans joining with wxm fans to attack fans of heswall athletic

Indeed, Clitheroe is actually one of the poshest towns in Lancashire (as a glance in a local estate agents window will confirm) and full of ladies what lunch and old duffers in harris tweed who still mumble about the times now being tabloid sized. Also, aside from it being largely unspoilt in terms of it's little town centre, it does have some decent pubs as I recall and all in a nice compact area - real shame this isn't a Saturday game in fact as it will rule out a decent pre-game pub crawl for most people...

Watch it mate, I am the proud owner of a Harris Tweed jacket, and I play heavy metal guitar! Might wear it Tuesday night when we play Clitheroe (not the guitar, the jacket). Seriously, I hope it will be a good game of football on the night. I go to all our away games and except for the Chorley fiasco the other week, our overall standard of behaviour at the clubs we have visited, on our travels, has been excellent, mixing and chatting over a pint with other club'.s supporters and exchanging views with them, has been a really nice experience. Thats what football is all about, so let,s all look forward to the Clitheroe game!
