Well...they did...until I had a lump on wink.gif

The are now 7/2, which is still a lot bigger than I expected us to be. Fill your boots!

Yes, but only up to £20. Not the greatest of offers but better than nothing.

No way for me, betting on a game is too much of a jinx risk, never mind a season!

I haven't bet on Chester since staking £50 on then-league leaders Brentford to beat us and losing the lot.

We had recorded about one win and three draws in 18 games, and Brentford were flying high at the top of League Two having beaten us 3-0 at Griffin Park earlier in the season. I whacked £50 on the Bees...

... and Chester won 3-0.

You were about to drive me over the edge of a cliff
As I tried to jump out I knocked the stereo on
You changed your mind and then slammed on the brakes
It was lucky for us we’d brought his greatest hits

You stopped us from killing each other
(Tom Jones, Tom Jones)
You’ll never know but you saved our lives
(Tom Jones, Tom Jones)
I’ve never thrown my knickers at you
And I don’t come from Wales

Never again will I bet on a Chester game. I had a lot of money running on Eastbourne in my accumulator and we all know what happened there! Lucky escape :D

Bet against your own team, no true supporter would ever do that.

Funny thing was, I was still up for the season - at the time, a few of us were making decent returns by backing the opposition every week. We had lost about 13 or 14 in 18 matches so it was easy money really. Then the league leaders came to town and blew a chunk of it out.

Win-win situation really as if Chester won a game you were happy, if they lost a game (as we often did during that spell) you'd made a few bob.

There's no team you have more knowledge on than your own! Most bookies for the lower leagues look at form and the table from a paper to get their starting odds. Actually seeing recent games gives you an upper hand that you don't get further up the pyramid. Made quite a bit last season mainly on betting on my own team to win or lose depending on how I saw them in the previous game!

Bet365 odds will be on their site by 31st of this month.

I wonder if other bookies will take the Skybet as a guide?

Down to 5/2 already.
League 1 South seems more open with Belper as favourites at 6/1.
