Well, the moment of history that so many supporters were looking forward to has been marred by a minority of absolute morons bringing shame on the reputation of the club. The saddest bit surely being the tannoy announcement offering parents with children safe escort out of the ground past the yobs congregating around the gates. The idiots responsible need to be identified and told in no uncertain terms that they aren't welcome at any more games home or away. I'm sure the police will be happy to supply a list of names and addresses if the decent majority won't.

Somehow I suspect that once the word gets out the other teams in Evostik Division One won't be looking forward to a visit from Chester FC.

Just got back now after being smuggled out of the ground by the police because my 7 year old daughter was terrified and now never wants to go to a match again. Absolutely gutted that such a good day has turned out like this. I'm so angry at the mo!!!!

That is devastating to hear mate, all decent Chester fans will be gutted about the distress it caused.

We need to get rid of these imbeciles now, there are plenty of other grounds at this level that serve a beer inside and as with most clubs sadly it appears that we have an element who turn nasty with it. Pathetic and a very bad start.

We had the same problems at Wimbledon. We ended up recommending that all clubs hosting us ban alcohol on the terrace and pay to get police in from the start of the match - not all of them bothered doing it because it would cost them too much money. What a shame it's happened today. ohmy.gif(

2 reasons why today went shambolically wrong;

1) Alcohol being served at the pub's before the game, and at the bar in the ground during the game, too many people getting drunk.

2) Colwyn Bay should have expected a big turn out from Chester supports as this was our first game as a reformed club and a (league club by size), therefore having more stewards and having more police at the ground during the game patrolling around, this was a non league infastructure holding a league club size attendance of away fans. Selling glass bottles and cans at football games is stupid.

These people need to be banned, they don't represent Chester FC in any format, they are trouble makers and need banning immedietly.

We need to take a hard line now. Ban them all now, otherwise we could end up with the consequence of fines from the league, extra police costs etc. Worst case, but possible, scenario is that we are kicked out of league on account of other small teams not being able to afford the police. Ban them all, and I'd cancel the rhyl game, as wrexham idiots could turn up

Alcohol is served at almost all non-league grounds before, during and after the match, usually with fans sharing a pint with players and match officials post match. To say that this was an error by Colwyn Bay is ridiculous, all they did was continue on as normal. We need to take a long hard look at the idiots who have marred an otherwise very enjoyable day, those morons have embarrased this whole club today and that is what needs to be dealt with, not the traditions and customs of non-league football.

If we can't adapt to the expected norms of behavious at this level, we are going to pay the price.

Were they genuinely Chester 'supporters'? And I use the term loosely. It seemed very odd to spend the whole game drinking in the clubhouse on a day of such humidity when your team is playing its first game. I didn't recognise any of those involved from previous games.

For most people all of the above would be fine, sadly some morons have returned with the rebirth of the club. To the ones to caues trouble, the idiot behind the goal who threw a crushed can at the keeper, and the one who felt it was funny to talk loudly through the minutes silence. Watch another club, as you are not welcome!

Although what happened today was wrong and we should do everything we can to stop this lets not blow it out of proportion.

There was 1600 or so chester fans there and it was only a hand full of them that couldnt handle their beer.

Today was a new start, dont let a handfull of dicks ruin our memories of a big day in our history!

Too true pal. At the end of the day, chavs and alcopops don't mix. It was still a great day despite their best efforts, and I hope nobody gets too downhearted by the behaviour of a handful of idiots.

a couple of the lads the police had stopped to question after the game were buying chips in the bar when it all kicked off and had nothing to do with the trouble caused, so even though the police did keep a couple of lads back, these were not the one that caused the trouble.
Basically the police were trying to see if they recognised any of the trouble makers as the fans filtered through the gate one by one and because they did not have a clue, they thought they would have to keep one or two back, to make a example of and so they did not look stupid.
However, they need to get their facts right before they start accusing individuals.

Disagree completely - when you have someone coming on here saying their child was scared and never wants
to go again.

Doesn't matter how many were involved fact is it happened - remember banksy's comments the other day about
this season being all about the kids and curbing our language and making Chester a family thing. How are we gonna
do that if a minority ruin it for everyone else and make the kids scared to go again.
