Sorry, but I'm the losing the plot a little.

We're in the FA Trophy third round, we're in the second round of the Cheshire Senior Cup, we won the Supporters Direct trophy, we're playing Hednesford next week in some cup or other (not sure which one this is, the website says DC3).....are there any others we're involved with?

Importantly, if we're successful in them all, how many games would we play on top of the 42 league games? It feels like a lot.

It's the Third Qualifying Round of the Trophy that we're in, just for total accuracy. The numbering starts again from Round One at the next stage after this.

Next season we'll have the FA Cup as well, but hopefully not the Northern Premier League Challenge Cup (or Doodson Sport Cup as it is with sponsorship), if we get promoted.

The Doodson Sport Cup would be replaced by the Setanta Shield if we were to go up into the Conference North

Simple answer : A lot biggrin.gif gotta look at the benefits of the prizemoney compared to the extra games , tough decision i think. hopefully get knocked out of the doodson cup asap!

Financially, it's better to be knocked out of most cups sooner rather than later.
Any profits (or losses) after taking account of match expenses are shared with the other side.
Only the prize money in the FA competitions makes it worthwhile compared to the hassle of extra games.

certainly a lot for a 21 man squad.

it's wierd because i would have thought 2 players for every position would be fine in these leagues, given the number of cups we're in people will still get a game and we'd have adequate if not JUST SOME cover.

Its concerning to think Horan and taylor are potentially going to play in almost 50 games at this rate gievn smith is playing in midfield mcneil up front leaves no cover whatsoever.

That competition got ditched a couple of seasons back - Setanta hasn't been broadcasting over here since mid-2009 either.

If you were to reach the finals of all three cups, as of today and not including the ties you've already played I make it 16, 8 in the trophy (including 2 legged semis) and four each in the others. What you dont need is replays, several of your rivals (FC, Hednesford etc)have had their minor cup fixtures postponed this week with FA Trophy replays to be played instead. Kendal play Stourbridge tonight by the way. The trophy is the only cup comp that offers serious money, if you were to reach the final, win or lose, you could expect to have banked at least £200,000 in prize money and your share of the gate money. Worth going for?
