Who would have predicted that Fleetwood would have a striker injury crisis in fairness...we don't know what goes on behind the scenes but I would imagine Burr had expected Matty Hughes to still be with us when thinking about the Burnley game a couple of weeks ago. I still think Hobbo will do a job up front as he did against Southend, its more the left hand side that worries me.

Don't forget McConville is a striker. To be fair, the system we play leaves one up top with one in the hole and we have plenty of attacking players who can play that position; McConville, Mahon, Rooney etc

Exactly, as long as we have the central point of the attack in Hobson then I think we'll be okay.

Mahon on the right and McConville on the left will do me. That'll leave Rooney in no10 and James and Harrison/Touray in central midfield

I wouldn't fancy Harrison for this game, especially after previous turnouts. Much rather have McConville in the no.10 with rooney and James Central and play Touray/Peers wide left. Mahon right and Hobbo central is a certainty.

Pretty sure AVFO will come on and clarify this:
Is it because we already had our maximum number of loan players we couldnt sign anyone else?

We were nowhere near our maximum surely. Again I suspect there may be more to this than meets the eye - why would Fleetwood recall him when they don't have a match at the weekend, they could have easily extended the loan on a 24 hour recall. It would also have given them the chance to see Hughes in action against a team from their own league. Strange.

Matty Hughes was recalled but it was the end of his loan period anyway so surley we should have got back up, we shouldnt have relyed on Fleetwood

We're only about 27 days away from a new window I am sure we can manage until then, Matty will be a big loss but we have to believe in what we have.

The system we play only requires, one central striker, in Hobson, McConville, Mahon and Rooney can all get goals from midfield.

Oates last game is Barnet too, so unless we can extend his loan, we'll be relying on Hobson for Alty home and away and Halifax away.

We could of course sign free agents, whats Iwelumo up to these days? biggrin.gif

Could do with him getting a bit of a run in the team other players have improved,I don't understand the situation with Wayne to be honest?

I'd genuinely rather we played with 10 men than see him on the pitch.

really can't see it being anything more than they didn't want to risk injury/suspension, otherwise they would be another striker down
