The management and regulars of Gallaghers pub and barbers, Birkenhead, Camra's Wirral and Merseyside pub of the year are planning a real ale tour of Chester, Saturday 14th July. As we'll be bringing a few musicians, does anyone know of a real ale boozer with a piano please

Still does I think, but I've never heard anyone playing it.

Strangely enough, the misleadingly named Pitcher & Piano opposite the ampitheatre does not have one rolleyes.gif

The Albion defo has one - but the landlord is a c*ck and would almost certainly bar you for life for even asking to play it.

Mike is a legend, great bloke. I used to work there years ago and he refused to switch on the coolers for the lager as he hated anyone who drank it!

Really Brian, that's a bit rich coming from you. Thanks for the suggestions though boys. The last time I was in the Albion there was a sign on the bar saying "This weeks guest lager, I can't believe it's not p**s". On the day, we'll have a few guitar players in tow, so if there's no piano, never mind. It would be a bonus though, one of the lads plays like Les Dawson! If Saturday in the Shrop was anything to go by, I can't wait.

Last time I went in the Albion they served up a shocking pint of Black Sheep.

Shame, because the pub and it's ideals are great.
