Ryan Lloyd has re-signed on loan from Port Vale till 1st January. Not sure if it's in time for tomorrow. Bit surprised myself. Thought he was decent but I was expecting another forward rather than midfielder. But happy enough.

No great suprise. The Vale have got a massive squad and most were surprised he was offered a deal.

I just hope this doesn't push our own players, Sam Hughes and Matty Waters down the pecking order.
These lads need serious game time.

Lets hope not but in my opinion it will probably be the case.

Great signing, gives us more competition for midfield places.

Understated player. Very good signing. Take it he didn't play today?!

No. It was a midfield of hunt on the left, he did nothing of any note. Shaw and George in the middle who were shocking and whoever played on the right must have been even worse because I can't remember who it was. Mahon and chapel came on out wide. I actually thought chapel was ok but Mahon was his, now usual, self. He's completely lost it now.

I thought Lloyd might have made a difference today if he had come off the bench.

Was never a Lloyd fan in particular. He runs around a lot and tries to do the right thing but is weak and struggles to make a pass. Who's place does he take? Captain fantastic George or strolling Shaw? We need solid, grown men - not kids struggling to break into first team squads elsewhere if we are to be competitive in this league. That was never more evident than today.

Lloyd is 22 so hardly a kid and the fact that Vale gave him a new contract in the summer suggests he should be more than good enough for this League

If you have a look at Vales player recruitment this summer you'll see a "Sign anyone and everyone" approach.

I think he is to much in the same mould as are other midfielders. But not what we need. We need a Barrow/Drummond type player for me, someone who can work the game out as it goes on around them and not just run around.

Tidy player but not what we need, we badly need some muscle in centre midfield.

Comes across like we are struggling to bring anyone in so bring someone who is cheap and we know.
