73 mins still 1-0 to Nomads, just been chances at both ends, quite a good game!

Even if it ends in a draw Nomads will go through on away goals smile.gif

76 mins John Disney has just been sent off ... he wasn't even on the pitch ... not sure what happened, but he'd already been substituted ... how does that work?

Home side's number 11 is good in midfield, always does something good when he gets the ball.

The home goalkeeper has just dribbled the ball 70 yards up the pitch, 5 mins to go, they're getting desperate!

I saw the first leg, which was played at Rhyl last week. Seven ex-Chester FC started the
game, with Paul Linwood on the bench. Some things don't change, Wes Baynes can still
strike a ball sweetly, John Danby still flaps at crosses and George Horan would still head a brick wall
if required. If you need a fix of competitive football rather than friendlies you could do
worse than get down to see the second leg of the next round on 21st July (should be at Rhyl
as that meets UEFA standards).

It's probably cheaper at Rhyl. It can't be anything to do with it being in England,
given that TNS play all their games in England.

Does the Deva have a UEFA license though - i.e. a license to stage European competition football?

I wonder if a Welsh amateur club registered to play at the Deva would there be an opening to register the address of an annexed office, aka a portakabin on the west side, and apply for a UEFA licence? Perhaps I should attend a CFU meeting and invite opinion...

In answer to questions about whether Connah's Quay can play at Chester I suggest it unlikely. Any team wishing to play in Europe in the Welsh Premier league have to nominate a ground if their's is not compliant to hold their matches so in their case the Deeside Stadium when applying for their UEFA licence by the end of August of last year.

UEFA stipulate you must have 1000 seats to hold a European match as no standing is allowed.

As far as I know only Aberystwyth, Rhyl, Bangor, The New Saints, Newtown and Carmarthen have the requisite number of seats to hold these fixtures and of course Wrexham, Newport, Cardiff and Swansea.

As Mancot also said, it's a question of whether the stadium could be licensed with the FAW and given a uefa grading.

It could bring some money into our club, especially given the current make up of that team (Nomads) but too late for this season. On the flip side, good luck to Rhyl with the Serbian fans.

My understanding is, as TNS possess a domestic licence issued by the FAW, their ground is considered part of Welsh football by UEFA even though it is in England.
