CHESTER FC can expect to kick-off next season in the Vodkat League, the Chronicle understands...

Is this final or can we can appeal? Haven't a clue how all this works and a bit of a disappointment, to say the least. sad.gif

Bit of a blow that, surprised the FA have decided to place us so low. On the bright side, every game is very local smile.gif

Somehow think this may change as time goes on... Not sure how the likes of these teams can cope with 500 plus away fans..

Wish the FA would have said this to begin with rather than raising everyones hopes by talking about the Northern Premier League - this now feels like a major disappointment.

Well at least we can enjoy some cracking local days out at some friendly little clubs. Hopefully as we rise through the leagues. May be best to start at that level seeing as we are building from absolute scratch. It's the equivalent of AFC Wimbledon's start, in actual fact.

Still, Northern League would've been nice.

Aah well, it's a bit gutting, but those 4 promotions getting us back into the conference are going to be great fun.

This is absoloutely terrible news. I am presuming with this news we can kiss goodbye to at least half of the 25 applicants for the managers job. crying.gif

It's a dissapointment but not a shock. If only the FA could have been so hard when it was needed. I'll still be going and throwing my complete support behind the club. If anything I think it should make us stronger.

It'd be a bit of a kick in the crotch, this, seeing as precedent suggested we'd go in a level or two higher. Still, better than no team - it's all about the days out.

That will be 5 I suspect - can't see us going in the NWCL Premier Division, as someone extra would have to be relegated for that to happen, and can't see that so it's probably going to be NWCL Division 1. At least we'll have a club to support but it feels like the only way it could have been worse is if we had been placed in the West Cheshire League.

However, I imagine this will now have big implications for the projected attendance figures and hence the budget for next season. It will also presumably mean a scaling down of what sort of manager and player will be willing to join us.

On the bright side I suppose it should only be a fiver at the most to get in now.

I can't wait for the away'ers anyway.

Much rather Warrington, Saints and Runcorn than Boston, Kidsgrove and Skelmersdale or whatever.

Wasn't expecting that, disappointing. It wont put me off but as mentioned before it may well put quite a few floaters and those who have applied for the managers job.

Agh!, totally bloody fed up of never being able to get on the Chron website. angry.gif

I'm a bit confused as to why we're being treated differently to the likes of Nuneaton, Halifax, Telford and Farnborough to be honest, especially since our application has been made earlier than these teams. Presumably we'll be in the North West Counties Division One as well rather than the Premier, effectively six levels below League 2 and just one level above the West Cheshire League.

It's not going to affect my support, and I'm still really looking forward to the new season, but it's a long, long climb ahead of us and I would be interested to hear an explanation to be honest

Cannot see the logic based on previous phoenix clubs, but if that's where we have to start from, then so be it.

Maybe we can now finally get to Wembley in the F A Vase

The average crowd in Unibond One North was 247;in Unibond One South it was 163

In North West Counties Premier, the average was 99. In Division one,it was 58.

While we're certainly going to be a very big fish, these friendly clubs with modest crowds and low wage bills(often nil in North West Counties Division one)were respected more than Chester have been in revent seasons.

Newcastle Town won the North West Counties Premier, with Rossendale being relegated to the North West Counties Premier,so i'm not hopeful things will change. Indeed the North West Counties Premier had its full complement of 22 clubs;it was only Division one which was short,by five i think. Stone and Barnoldswich are promoted from North West Counties One to the Premier.

This is a massive kick in the nuts.

If we go into NWC Div 1 then we will be going in at the same level that AFC Liverpool went in at. However we are a phoenix club, they were a new team. How the FCUK is that fair? angry.gif
