To be honest we don't want someone who wants to have a go. Owen has no Management experience. We need an experienced Manager in the level we are playing at, hopefully with experience of managing in the lower Football League aswell.

I believe we will get there in the end.

I'm still scarred from Ian Rush's time with us so a big No from me to MO managing although I do think it was a bit mean of him not play for us before he hung up his boots.

Eh, Why on earth would we want someone with no experience and why on earth would he be interested in the job?

Williamson was dismissed from his position as Kenya's manager in February and is out of work.

Not sure why it was a bit mean not playing for us before he hung up his boots, he had them well hung up halfway through his Man Utd contract

I think Rush suffered because of SV and the sacking of Aizelwood.

But of course no to owen, unless as a coach.

Owen is like an ongoing joke now, i remember calls to sign him as a striker, those were just as comical. He makes the odd appearance on BT sport if we're televised, but isn't bothered about us at all.

It's like one of those mates you have that know no lower league but know you support Chester so pop up with a few, ''oh i saw Chester won/lost again'' comments. laugh.gif guiness.gif

Bloody hell, not Morrell. I'm surprised at you nominating him. What about Andy Preece of Craig Harrison although I would still prefer Harvey.

Don't see a manager at all in Owen personally. Outpacing the last defender and converting one-on-one was what he was good at, but his style of play hardly meant he had to learn the tactical intricacies of the game. Can't see him being a great motivator either going by his monotone BT Sport appearances.

Sorry Ian Rush has zero personality, thinks he's God and just didn't cut it as a manager here. Not usually so anti but I don't think I will ever forgive him either for playing for the Goats when he said in his book he would finish his playing days with us. Even Danny Higginbottom signed for Alty before he hung his boots up to keep his promise.

Surely Michael Owen and Bobby Williamson are tongue-in-cheek? Ronnie Moore would do for me.

Maybe he's backed himself at good odds!

Seriously though, he's been a really good manager for years. Only likely negative is his possible lack of knowledge of National League players and teams. But he's been a League manager for too long not have contacts and good scouting set up.

He's the best candidate mentioned so far on here.

Ronnie Moore! got to be a good choice he has lower league experience and as said, plenty of contacts!

I have a lot of time for Ronnie Moore, not for me at Chester though. I think his mojo's gone now. I think we need to assemble a team of youngish big hungry lads, from below the conference, the conf players bar Hannah that we can attract just arn't up for it, or are of smaller physique and got by in a better side.

Do some of the supporters think that the Club has found a goldmine under the stadium?
Even before the settlement of the managers contract, there were constant moans about the budget and I am sure that the position hasn't improved. crying.gif

Whoever comes in will have to be someone who has a great knowledge of non league as I think we will be shopping in the cheap aisle. Our budget next season will already be paying for Worsnop, Shaw etc, and then SB payoff. Add to that the poor gates and reduced commercial income this season will make it a challenge for any manager.

I've said it before on here, i think we should go for Mickey Harris who is currently in charge of Portsmouths youth academy. He has experience of the lower leagues and did an excellent job as manager of Salisbury City.
