The jungle drums are beating out that Pat is no longer employed at Chester FC. Anyone know whether this is so?

The Board of CFC has recently carried out a review of the Club's management structure to ensure that the Club is fit for purpose moving into this new era as a community owned entity, unfortunately this has meant that we no longer require the services of the post of CEO and as a result Pat Cluskey has now left the Club.

The Board would like to thank Pat for his work at the club over the last two and a half years and wish him well for the future.

If you look at Pat's CV - we can ill avoid to lose someone of such experience as we move into a new era playing at a disadvantage (part time/limited funds) against full time well funded opposition. He's worked with professional sports clubs at a far higher level than Chester FC including Leeds Carnegie RUFC when they were a Premiership team.

Not sure I believe all I read on the OWS... more to this than meets the eye.

So who is going to do the work Pat did?

I don't like the sound of this and think we should be told exactly what the club's management speak actually means. Is it a cost cutting exercise or is there something more sinister. If the club is to be fit for purpose, I would have thought a CEO was vital and as Scottie says, who is going to do Pat's work. Very strange and we are not being given the full story.

Not used this Radioplayer link before ... it's spot on. I can switch my speakers between the net and the radio and they're bang in sync.

Got radio on now, just listened to the announcement about Pat, read out in a very matter-of-fact manner .... wonder what's happened? unsure.gif

Moved on to admission price rises for next season and last week's CFU meeting, on more confident ground now. Shane has wished Tony all the best for next season and they're on to music...

OH DEAR, not good that. Pat all the best for future, you were always very helpfull when I required anything down at the Club.

Already been mentioned I know, but is there measures in place to soak up Pats work load.

Something has to have gone on. Given it was mentioned at the meeting to go into the league you need to be a limited company surely a CEO is exactly what we need??

I'm sure there are. The current board, after all their hard work in getting the Club back on an even keel, will not be doing anything that could harm us going forward. There's obviously a good reason why we have parted company with Pat, and who of us actually know how much (or how little) he's actually been contributing to things during his time on the board? I for one have full trust in Tony, Steve and the rest of the board to make the right decisions in matters like this, so I certainly won't be worrying.

I hate to see anybody lose their job and I really hope whoever has made this decision has done it in the correct manner, that is the trouble when you have so called business men running the club they always make redundancies because it is easy to do, at the CFU meeting I take it this wasn't mentioned what a surprise

Do we really need to employ someone full time when the only other full time employee is the manager?

I might be missing something here, but what exactly has Pat McC achieved in the past 2 years?
Maybe the people on the board such as Tony D and Steve A have the skills to do it themselves, or know people that might.

After all he didn't pick up the missing money from the bar takings did he?

I would much rather have someone who had the skills but had to manage his time than someone who doesn't have the skills but all the time in the world, tells you something that......

Doubt he does.

A number of things needed sorting when the new board was elected. Looks like they are working through them all.
It's a good time of the year to make changes though isn't it.
