Prince Harry to marry his girlfriend Meghan Markle in the Spring.
A “commoner” and a divorcee, who would have thought.
The late Duke of Windsor had to give up his throne because he wanted to marry a commoner and a divorcee in Wallace Simpson.
Princess Margaret wanted to marry Captain Townsend, the love of her life, but was refused because he was a divorcee.
Prince (soon to be King Charles at some time) allowed to marry his long time mistress, after making his previous wife’s life utterly miserable, will more than likely insist his former mistress becomes Queen.
What larks, all on the millions we hand out to them every year.!

If we're not even going to get a bank holiday out of it, I couldn't care less.

Know exactly what you mean. Ive nothing against the couple themselves, they seem great, but... I’ve read somewhere that the last royal wedding cost the taxpayers (us!) about £30m for the security alone, and yet a few months ago 71 people died in their homes because the local council didn’t spend a few thousand £££s extra on fireproof cladding.

Not right, is it.

Exactly, richest family in the country by a country mile, could well afford their strange way of life without us giving them billions extra.
Cut the civil list altogether, and let them charge a fee for their Royal duties if they want extra.
I don’t want to hear, “they bring money into our economy” Where’s the proof? The sale of Royal trinkets etc. are mostly sold by street sellers anyway, and you have to pay to go in their castles, which are maintained by us!
If you want an insight into the families strange habits and customs, read “ Diana” by Tina Brown, it also illustrates exactly how appallingly they treated Diana.
Interesting to see Meghan and Harry holding hands and cuddling, something we never saw Charles do to his first wife!
