Don't know if I'm the only City supporter to think this, but I do feel sorry for Rush, although I think his time here has obviously run its course and it is time to bring experience in. He'll find trouble getting another managerial position now, and I'd be surprised if he even tried to be honest. Good luck to him in whatever he does. There's certainly no hard feelings from me - he's had a crack at it and it hasn't worked out for him - we're not likely to go down and he hasn't harmed anyone in trying apart from a few bruised egos along the way so I've still got plenty of respect for him.

Not in the least bit arsed about Aizlewood though. He can rot.

I do feel sorry for him, he seems a nice enough lad but was never up to the job.

He shouldn't have been appointed in the first place given his coaching record at Wxm and liverpool (strikers coach at the time when Owen, Heskey & Baros couldn't hit a barn door)

Enjoy the courtsey work up at Anfield and remember to take Belle with you.

Couldn't care less to be honest.

Nice man he may be, but he nearly took us down. Management is a tough game and he wasn't up to it.

Cheers Ian. Good luck for the future.ill second that. despite his lack of understanding of the football at this level and with his poor tactics, he has still been able to get us 10 points clear of the relegation zone, from an abysmal position when he arrived where we had 2 points from 6 games.

Credit to SV - The chairman did the right thing in giving him the job - it could of worked out well but didn't and he made the right decision in letting him go we're far from safe but a new face in charge might just make the difference.

either way - if we go down now we can't say for certain we wouldn't have if IR had been in charge.

I wish him well - sadly he wasn't quite up to the job in this situation.

I've been thinking the same, maybe a stint as Toshacks no.2 at Wales...?

IR's statement the other week about signing players, but not one's he wanted now starts to make some sense.

It is now clear that he had his hands tied, and that SV had lost confidence in the IR/MA management team and was not going to allow him to spend what little funds there might be available for player transfers.

SV was clearly waiting to see if the next few weeks panned out as badly as he anticipated before wielding the axe, whilst keeping any funds available for the new manager.

Well that's my theory, for what it's worth.
