When the final whistle blew I couldn't cheer I was so choked. I just hugged my mates.

I eventually wiped my tears away & sang my heart out albeit in a rather croaky voice.....

And now I'm supposed to pick a player of the season? Clare, Macca, Collins, Carden, Smith.......?

As an Exiled Shots fan living in Torquay, I popped into Appleby's (A local boozer down here) for a beer or two tonight. I was accosted by Shaun,A chesterite proudly wearing his colours, as I was wearing mine. He spotted the "Hi Speed" logo and promptly bought me a beer. Had a great time chatting about the events of this season.
He was a little *Happy* at your recent promotion, and only got back to Torquay today after a night of celebrating in Chester. I hope to meet up with him on many more occasions in the near future. I dare say that if we manage to get through in the playoffs there will be many nights of banter here in the English riveria throughout the coming season.

Surfice to say, well done on getting back to the league. Do us a favour and knacker out Hereford this week, we may have to play them a couple more times yet! smile.gif

I was choked until the final whistle then when it went just lept up and over the wall fearing my big blue and white hat would drop off screaming as loud as I could

Absolutely brilliant, we are finally back where we belong

Oh here we are and here we are and here we go
All aboard and we're hittin' the road
Here we go
Rockin' all over the world

Well gidy up gidy up and get away
We're goin' crazy and we're goin' today
Here we go
Rockin' all over the world

And I like it, I like it, I like it, I like it
I li-li-li-like it, li-li-li-like it
Here we go
Rockin' all over the world

I'm gonna tell your mama what you're gonna do
So come on out with your dancing shoes
Here we go
Rockin' all over the world

And I like it, I like it, I like it, I like it
I li-li-li-like it, li-li-li-like it
Here we go
Rockin' all over the world

And I like it, I like it, I like it, I like it
I li-li-li-like it, li-li-li-like it
Here we go
Rockin' all over the world

And I like it, I like it, I like it, I like it
I li-li-li-like it, li-li-li-like it
Here we go
Rockin' all over the world

And I like it, I like it, I like it, I like it
I li-li-li-like it, li-li-li-like it
Here we go
Rockin' all over the world

Drove up from Cambridge to see the Game. Doesn't seem that long ago that I made the same journey to see CCFC go down to the Conference. What a different set of emotions on Saturday!!! Excellent result (though a tense and poor game) that was the culmination of a superb season. Congratulations to everyone.

I thought on Saturday about all the MUFC, Liverpool and even Arsenal supporters who are Chester born and bred. Why? You can only feel the emotions that 5000+ people felt on Saturday if you are more than a "glory supporter". So all the United fans who can't afford to go to Old Trafford, or who can't get tickets, follow your home club and really feel what it means like to be a true supporter. How many of them, I wonder, have watched a game on CeeFax like I watched the Shrewsbury game last week?

The most optimism I have felt for the Club since the wonderful Peter Hauser team of the early '60's.

Congratulations from Wxm. It's nice to have some football league rivals again - let's hope Salop win the playoffs.

It's about time you came back to the real world. Don't stop just yet though - take it from me Div 3 is a very poor league - I fully expect you to be challenging for the playoffs next year. Teams like Donny and Yeovil have proved that.

Cheers.

probably my best day ever watching the blues.
starting with a full cooked from Davies' in Hoole, then beers in the Mill at 11am. Lift to the ground for a poor match but great occasion. Trek to Telfords afterwards for celebratory ales, fit in a burger and chips before going to the Ship Victory to show the Man City fans how good footy can be, then rounded off with several scoops in the Mill and some good sing-songs with the blues.... (hello Krankie and Saltney Blue  )

My only regret was not seeing any of the players, or the banner on the clock bowdown.gif

well done to all of you at the club, and to all blues fans, wherever you are

a fantastic achievement - well done to the entire club - fans, players, coaches, bakroom staff and of course MW & SV!

You have made Chester City proud once more.

I have to say I cried 4 years ago watching our team taken out of the league - the next time I cried was Saturday watching the players lift the trophy.

Thankyou for making my season!

Only just sunk in having read the Chester Evening Leader, too choked and p**sed to post before now.

The greatest day without question - can't wait for the fixtures for 2004/05 to come out.

Thanks for everything Steve Vaughan, Mark Wright, the backroom staff and most of all the players.

Fooking fantastic.

just to say congrats.
but can i just say i grew up in chester, moved away when i was 18. Moved to birmingham and i am know a BImingham city fc season ticket holder. But just remember that there are people out here that do not support chester, but r still not glory hunters. All i can say is that no matter who you support we all get the same feeling on a saturday just before 3pm when you r waitin for that whistle to blow.

Good luck next season

Congratulations for going up. I will enjoy coming up to your ground next season. I'm a Bristol Rovers fan and my brother has lived in and supported Chester over the last ten or so years. My parents live in Frodsham and I've seen Chester on a few occassions when I've been up there. I've been following your results all season and it's great to have you back in the league. You've overcome so many problems over the past few years so enjoy the moment and hope we both go up to division two.
Have a great summer Paul.
