Jim Green ‏@jimcgreen ·
#ChesterFC have signed midfielder Andy Bond, who was released by Colchester earlier this month. Lots of experience and still only 27.

Looks like a great signing. He has played 8 games in League 1 this season according to Wikipedia where he is already listed as as a Chester player - how do they get updates so quickly?

Good signing, very impressive. Does any know if he is more of a holding midfielder, or attacking midfielder in similar mode to Sarcevic and the like?

Was on loan at Bristol Rovers last season whose manager Ward said -

“He was the first player I signed when I was manager at Colchester, so I know what he can do.

“He is just what I was looking for in terms of experience and he has played at a number of different levels. He gives me an experienced player where I currently have youth.

“He is an all action player, very energetic and busy, and he can play in a number of different positions.

Think the consensus would be that he's the hardworking box to box type of m/fielder though he can play out wide as well.

I think the latter, at least until Sedds is back or we sign a striker.

In talks with a striker today, would be a good addition.

My dad is a Colchester fan and his description of him was "got a decent finish and can get goals from midfield but thats about it". Apparently he lacks pace and positional awareness. If we just plan on using him to bolster out attacking options and get some more goals he could be a shrewd signing.

Don't ask for clues, they are both clueless as to who will be signing, they just like to make themselves feel more important than they actually are...
