A massive match for us tonight against a struggling Leyton Orient team. 3 points is a must for us, and I think we will manage to achieve that, on the back of a good point at Bromley. It won’t be easy, as they drew against Dover on Saturday under a caretaker manager but we definitely need to be winning this one. Come On You Blues!
Score: Leyton Orient 1-2 Chester FC (White, Bell)
Attendance: 4,176 (106 Chester)
COYB!

I would’ve taken a point before tonight, but given the circumstances we faced I can’t believe that we didn’t take all 3. I did actually think, deep down, that Hannah’s penalty miss would maybe galvanise Orient, and in the end it did. By the sounds of things we were poor in the second half, and to be honest it’s really frustrating that we let 10 men attack us, when we could have put the game to bed earlier on. Typical Chester again, but a point isn’t the end of the world. Hats off to the 173-strong travelling support. That is outstanding for a 200-mile trip on a cold Tuesday night. What amazing supporters we have. Not many other clubs in our league would better that.
Attentions turn to the cameras again on Saturday. We should win I hope, given the Daggers’ poor away form. Come On City!

Cant help but think this isn't our year, there's only so many 'what ifs' or 'didn't get what we deserved' you can take. The points say it all, unless we improve our results significantly - which I don't think we will - we are down.

Before the game, a point would have been fine. Given the halftime situation, it’s 2 points dropped, and we let a team just above us in the league off the hook.

Not a disaster, but not good either.

I am inclined to agree with you, but on reflection Marcus Bignot has obtained several points for us since he took over when we would likely have had none at all. He is working well in very difficult circumstances. Have confidence in him to pull us through.

Agree that we're picking up extra points now but my worry is that we're still dropping too many (like last night) and we'll simply run out of time.

Everybody knows what's behind all this. Thanks to the board's forward 'planning' we've wasted several months that could have been better spent with a manager who knew what he was doing. Yes we've been unlucky with injuries and other things but the board have put this club seriously on the back foot this season. They were warned for months by the rest of us but took no action until, at least in my opinion, it was close to being too late.

Looking at the highlights, their first goal very hard to defend against, although simply putting a man on each post would have helped. Great free kick from Hannah. Doesn’t look like Akintundes shot crosses the line, Bell far too slow tapping the ball into an empty net. Once the pen is given the sending off is a formality, goalie moves before pen taken, he’s a yard off his line and diving to his right before Hannah has kicked the ball (try freeze framing it). Their second goal is a good strike, but are we too deep in general?

Overall, two draws away is ok but we are in a situation where we need to string a few home wins together. Supporting the team is vital, the Dagenham game is our only home game for a couple of weeks, let’s get behind the team and help them win it cityscarf.gif
