IF this provides much needed extra income over and above spaces lost in the car park then surely, despite some people having to join the likes of me and walk in from their car, this has got to be good for the club.

If this goes ahead, the land will not be available to the club for the next 47 years.
Any chance of extending the Harry Mac, either to increase capacity or to improve facilities for supporters, will go the way of the dodo.

Correct .and for the reasons you give i believe the fans should give this the boot . If Jon McCarthy manages to get us into the top half of the table this season we will need those parking spaces !Once the club sign away that land it will be gone for good

After many objections, planning permission has been granted to the developer to demolish the Stagecoach depot on Liverpool Road and build a 321 room student accommodation. The scheme includes space for just SIX cars, evidently there isn't any profit in free parking.

This means the bus depot has to move, and our car park is back in the firing line sad.gif

Maybe they're building an NCP carpark next door with 50% discount for students.

I believe the rent for the land will be around a 100k per year .

Surely we would not get anything as the land belongs to CWAC.

Surely we would not get anything as the land belongs to CWAC.

It could be a sub-letting which would mean cash to CFC.
But, it will probably need permission of CWAC as the lessor and I guess they would want an increase in the annual rent paid by us. Of course, CWAC may not grant permission at all.

If Stagecoach pursue their interest in our carpark, I assume that this will class as a disposal of a CFU asset and would be covered by the 'triple-lock' provision in the CFU constitution.
In that case, there should to be full disclosure of the facts to allow CFU members to make an informed decision.
