Hello all, it's nearly World Cup time again! Here are the rules for our 2018 Predict-a-Score Special.

The competition will be run in the same way as the usual P-A-S, ie:

1. If you correctly predict the outcome of a game (Win/Lose/Draw) you will receive 1 point.

2. If you correctly predict the exact score of a game (e.g. Germany 1 England 5) you will receive an additional 2 points.

3. If you correctly predict the exact score, you can score extra points by also predicting the scorers. 1 additional point will be awarded for each correctly predicted scorer for either side. Points are only awarded for predicting the scorer/s when you get the exact score correct.

Please note that all predictions are for the score at 90 minutes, extra-time and penalties do not count.

Also, the starting 11 has to be submitted* at least 85 minutes before kick-off, with all 12 other players being available as substitutes. For this reason, all threads will auto-close TWO HOURS before kick-off and, as usual, late entries will not be accepted for any reason. Due to the sheer number of games (64) the competition will not be covering every game in the World Cup.

Predictions will cover the following games...

All games in England's Group G, ie

Monday, 18th June 2018, 4.00pm, Belgium v Panama
Monday, 18th June 2018, 7.00pm, Tunisia v England
Saturday, 23rd June 2018, 1.00pm, Belgium v Tunisia
Sunday, 24th June 2018, 1.00pm, England v Panama
Thursday, 28th June 2018, 7.00pm, England v Belgium
Thursday, 28th June 2018, 7.00pm, Panama v Tunisia

After the six opening Group G matches, the competition gets into full swing and will cover:
All last 16 matches
All Quarter-Finals
Both Semi-Finals
3rd and 4th place playoff game
The Final

I think that covers everything. The high number of games in the early stages mean it would be a nightmare to cover every match, so this format works best (for me!). If anyone has any questions, please ask. The first thread will appear in early June. Good Luck!

* for info...
FIFA Rule 46
Start list and substitutes’ benches

3. Each team is responsible for providing the completed start list to the FIFA
General Coordinator at least 85 minutes before kick-off and ensuring that the
start list is completed properly and submitted on time.

On match days ... we ALL play!
