Can anyone from the club confirm if we have lodged an appeal ? Reading SB comments on the match report sounded like SB thinks it was nothing, would be great if we had a bit of luck go our way.

so a player is suspended for a time period not games ? that used to happen years ago but recently it has been games as sometimes there were postponments and some players didnt miss many games

No. Hughes is banned for 3 first team fixtures, the last of which is currently due to be played on the 15th.

Is the 15th when fleetwoods third game is finished assuming he has now gone back to them?

You never know with the FA, but I think it's barely worth an appeal. There undoubtedly was a coming together so it's down to the ref to decide whether it justified a red card. The FA rarely overrules officials on things that are matters of opinion, only when it's clear that the ref was plain wrong.

Personally, I think it's laughable to describe what he did as "violent conduct", but at the same time players should have the sense not to get involved in these situations.

If there's is an appeal and he wins it I'll donate £100 to squadbuilder. No f**king chance!

Any official word whether Hughes has gone back to Fleetwood or is definitely suspended? Leave us with just Hobson up front at Southend with a packed midfield I'm guessing.

That worries me. We looked a lot better when McConville pushed further forward at Eastleigh in the second half.
I think another dip into the loan market is essential if we lose Hughes. Look very thin up front.

Of course...if he was playing for wxm, swansea or cardiff the welsh fa would overturn it no problem!!

Why don't we move to the Welsh FA then?

The club have extended Matty Hughes loan spell, not sure how long for though and the club will not be appealing his red card.

So how does everyone think we should approach this without Hughes? Hobson up front on his own? IMO we need a more imaginative approach for this one or else we will be staring down the barrel of a 2-0. Menagh can be a bit of a headless chicken but he does have a bit of pace and I'd like to see him given a starting role, or play McConville in the Hughes role.

McConville up front with Hobson. It's obvious McConville can finish after his goals at Stockport and his volley against Eastleigh.

Looks like four games to me?

Southend, Macc, Gateshead, Bristol Rovers, Dartford, Nuneaton & Telford are all within a month.

Will be great having him against Dartford/nuneaton/Telford. They're key games for us if we don't want to get pulled back towards the relegation zone.
