Devastating news. Whenever I ballboyed in the West Stand, he always used to shout ‘’Riot’’ (in a tongue-in-cheek way) behind me whilst he was selling the programmes. I knew who it was because his voice was always loud 😂 so I used to have a good chat with him whenever I saw him. I’ve really enjoyed reading some stories from fellow fans on Deva Chat today about Phil. You can tell that he was a massive blues fan, and now I know who he is, I 100% agree. When I was on the Hipkiss for East Thurrock, Phil was right at the back god bless him.
He always made me laugh whenever I spoke to him and I’m sure that he will be a big miss to all. Devastating news but RIP Phil. My condolences go to all of his family and friends.
Btw I really appreciate the Chronicle for putting up such a great article about him, as not only would I not know who he was, but I wouldn’t be writing this piece about him right now.
RIP 😰.

Didn't know him but too many too often in the news..
We need a day to tribute fellow blues from the past some of my favourite blues were obviously Lunty Spen Snowy Old Albert Luke's Last Shirt Elton's Dad and more recently Gary at the Tranmere rovers home game. If you did not know him you would from the Mike Williams Testimonial at the goatcourse

Posted on other DC from Phil's daughter:

Just wanted to confirm that the funeral is going to be the 23rd of April at 10 am at the Crem at Blacon followed by light refreshments at the blues bar at Chester football club.
